How about a Victorian-Gothic Sleepy Hollow Masquerade? It would take some real guts to use this board as inspiration for a wedding, but I can definitely imagine it as a fantastic Halloween party. Refinement meets decay, the macabre meets the glamorous. It is so creepily whimsical, and if someone had the inclination, I think it could work really well. Also, a big thank you to all the ladies who posted about Halloween weeks ago – all of your posts were big inspiration for this board!

Reindeer, holly berries, cookies and milk. Sounds like Christmas, but it’s a wedding! I love the pink with the red. And the warm ivory. And the touches of gray. A warm, intimate event, maybe at home, and including some of the most fun elements of the holidays. Stockings like this might make for a cute decorative element, too.

Mood: warm and cozy
Palette: red, pink, gray, white

Yesterday I posted a board based around one flower. Today’s board is based around another single element: apples. Apples are so charmingly rustic, and you can make them part of an equally rustic event, but they can also work perfectly at an elegant wedding: tiny candied apples passed by servers, as place cards with paper leaves, sugared as a cake decoration. I would also use a vintage apple crate label as inspiration for wedding stationery to keep the theme running throughout.

Mood: rustic elegance
Palette: apple colors (red, green, gold, brown), white

A single flower can be the focus of an entire event, and it keeps things simple. Lily of the valley’s shape resembles wedding bells, and green and white are a classic combination, making this delicate spring bloom a wonderful choice.

Mood: traditional, clean
Palette: pale green, white

I swear, next weekend I won’t be spending my Saturday night studying Pythagorean triplets. However, while this means no fun for me, it means a Weekend Edition for you, because I need a little break.

This is a special board, inspired by my time living in the Delta, and keeping in mind two teacher friends who will be tying the knot there come next spring. I imagine an event that is low key and very Delta, which means cotton bolls, sweet tea, barbecue, and some live blues music. I would use mason jars for centerpieces to echo the mason jar candles and the mason jar drinking “glasses.” I would also recommend a swamp cooler at the ceremony.

Mood: rustic, local charm
Palette: red, white
