Hi friends! Sorry for the late post today – I am finally completely moved! Today’s wedding board was inspired by the incredible tent in the top corner, both for color and for the feel of it. I don’t know that a destination wedding would be for me, but either way it’s nice to have a little getaway in the middle of the week.

Mood: warm, exotic
Palette: orange, turquoise, lime green, sand

(The pun was just too obvious to resist!) It’s not here yet, but autumn is on its way… There is something moody in the look of this wedding board, which I think works because autumn is sort of moody. The light changes, the colors change, and the temperatures fluctuate. For this wedding, I imagine late afternoon light, or early evening lit by firelight. I also wanted to incorporate the colors you would find in pears – nothing as bright or saturated as you would find in apples, but still varied. The kraft paper invitation is perfect too, since both its color and texture are reminiscent of the skin of Bosc pears. And if you’re look for the perfect favor for your guests, try these paper-wrapped pears.

Mood: elegant harvest
Palette: muted natural shades

I think this is one of those color palettes that can really capture the personalities of the couple getting married, and it would work well in a number of venues: a stark urban loft, on the beach, in a summer garden. Aqua and poppy red might be too bold for some, but that’s the fun of colors – there really is something for every style and taste!

Mood: bold, playful
Palette: aqua, poppy red, white

Here is the second inspiration board that I made a few months ago for I just adore the illustration that Rene Gruau did for Christian Dior, and really loved making this wedding board based around it.

Mood: feminine, modern
Palette: shades of gray, blush pink, orange, peach

I’m not sure if this is apparent from your side of the computer, but things over here have been incredibly hectic lately. I was away for two weeks, and as soon as I got back I had to pack up my life and move into a new place. In the midst of getting settled, I drove 14 hours to a friend’s wedding this weekend, and then yesterday drove 14 hours back (what made me think driving there was the best plan?). Needless to say, I’m still trying to get situated and re-organized. To help myself catch up, I’m doing some re-posting today, with two inspiration boards that I made awhile back for’s Design Roundtable. Some of you may have seen them already, so I apologize for the repeat, but I actually really liked the way these turned out, so I’m happy to share them again. Hoping to be back to normal tomorrow. I’m not making any promises or anything, but I’m working on it!

Magnolias are one of those incredible smelling flowers that look perfect singly in a bud vase or mason jar. You can even carry one on its own as a bouquet! Magnolias are feminine without being dainty, and they are the central inspiration for this wedding board. I imagine this wedding being fairly small, on the casual side, with someone’s great-uncle passing around a jar of moonshine at some point during the reception. And if I were to make this board over again, I would probably go with homemade cakes or cupcakes in place of the more formal (though gorgeous) cake I included here.

Mood: soft, romantically rustic
Palette: green, cream, pale slate
