Jocelyn Mathewes of Studio Mathewes Photography says that the best part of her job is that it feels like play – she loves being part of a couple’s special day, and getting to help them save the memories from that day. And Jocelyn’s love for her work comes through in the lovely images that she captures – see for yourself!

This is just a small sampling of some of my favorite shots, but you can see so many more over at the Studio Mathewes website, and their blog of course. Beautiful photos, Jocelyn!

Well friends, I thought I would have a little more free time (and a little more internet access!) on my trip this weekend, but it looks like I’m going to be a bit of a delinquent blogger until I’m back home in a few days. I hope you’ll enjoy these fun links in the meantime, have a wonderful long weekend, and forgive my lack of posting…

Ponytail bride.

How about a road trip in one of these?

If I were to raise chickens

Beautiful cut-paper invites.

Send someone a party in their mailbox!

So many things I love about this photo shoot.

I kind of wish I could sew and make my honey a love letter like this.

Sometimes eloping sounds just right.

DIY Louboutins?

A delightfully retro beach engagement shoot.

Happy weekend lovelies! I’ll be back soon!

I’m headed down to New Orleans for the day, and then driving over to Mississippi for the weekend for my sweet friend‘s wedding! After having lived in Mississippi for two years, it holds a special place in my heart, and I thought a rustic board with a cotton bole motif would be fun. Dinner would be barbecue of course and there would have to be a really great blues band for dancing.

Mood: a bit of garden charm on the beach
Palette: sand, shell, plum

Who says a beach wedding has to include sand dollars and seashells? Instead, incorporate elements like flowers, twine, and wicker furniture, and enjoy the romance of both the garden and the beach. I chose to use a palette of mostly sand and shades of plum, and I think the result is unexpected and lovely (if I do say so myself!).
