If you’ve been looking for the perfect piece of jewelry to finish off your bridal look, or maybe as gifts for your bridesmaids, or even for your wedding band, then you must see the beautiful fine jewelry by Blanca Monros Gomez. Not only is each delicate piece made to order, one at a time, and by hand…they’re also eco-friendly! Blanca carefully hand-crafts all of her fine jewelry by re-using as much material as possible, and by using recycled precious metals – all of the wedding bands are made exclusively with recycled gold. This is only a small sample of the jewelry by Blanca Monros Gomez – be sure to check out her website and Etsy shop for more. And if you don’t see just what you want, shoot her an email and she’ll work with you to create the perfect, customized piece.
Today’s wedding, shot by the talented Karen Wise, is a fresh breath of spring air. The bride, Anli, was kind enough to share some of the details behind the day, We wanted to blend visual and cultural elements of my Chinese heritage, my love of nature and flowers, and Kenneth’s hometown, into the celebration. We were going for a “Shanghai-1940s-era” meets “garden party” aesthetic, so naturally the Brooklyn Botanical Garden was a perfect venue. Also, the date of our wedding in early April influenced many of our decisions. We thought of our wedding date as another kind of spring, of new life and beginnings.
From Anli: Though the weather was cold and ruled out an outdoor wedding, we were ready with a backup setup inside the Palm House. In some ways this was preferable because our vows were extensive and important for people to hear and thanks to a great sound system and more intimate setting, no one missed a word. We got so many compliments on the vows!
Kenneth arranged for he and Anli to be picked up in a classic 1958 Rolls Royce at the end of the night.
Congratulations Anli and Kenneth! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful wedding with us, and of course thank you to Karen Wise for sending over these beautiful photos! Guests told Anli and Kenneth that the wedding was beautiful, and the photos were even more stunning. See more of Karen’s beautiful work on her site and her blog.
I am so excited for this weekend! I’ve been in beautiful Montana for about a month without my honey, and he’s finally coming for a little vacation. There are some great real weddings lined up for you next week, but I’ll probably be pretty MIA as far as email goes. We’re thinking of taking a short trip either to Yellowstone or Glacier, and… we’ve got some planning to do. Yep, we’re getting married in Montana next summer! That’s all I’m sharing for now, but in the meantime, here are lots of great links from around the web this week:
Now that I’m engaged, one of the things I’m most excited about (aside from being married of course!) is choosing which items I want to register for. One of the first places that I looked is at Tabula Tua‘s incredible online store. With their online wedding registry and registry completion program, it’s a great option for brides everywhere. Not only that, but right now they’ve got a special offer for Snippet & Ink readers – when you register with them before September 30, Tabula Tua will give you a $100 credit toward your registry!
One of my very favorite collections that Tabula Tua offers is Match Pewter. I love that it can be dressed up or down, and that it’s the perfect balance between masculine and feminine. I love that it’s simple and lovely, from the Convivio dinnerware to the elegant serving trays. And I love that it’s all handmade. Here are a few of my favorite Match Pewter pieces…
This is just a small sampling of the gorgeous tableware and furnishings at Tabula Tua, so be sure to check out all of the other collections they have in their online store. If you want to register for beautiful, special pieces that will become family heirlooms, Tabula Tua is definitely the place for you. Oh, and don’t miss their blog, Mix&Match, full of beautiful pieces and registry advice.
