Now that my honey is working crazy hours, I have a whole new appreciation for my weekends with him. Even if they don’t include much more than trying a new taco place and watching episodes of Arrested Development in our jammies. How do you like to spend your lazy weekends? Maybe browsing some of these awesome links (this list seems to get longer every week)…

Gosh it’s late – the day is almost over! But I promised you an inspiration board, so here it is. I’m not sure it turned out quite the way I was hoping, but I do think it gives you a good idea of the color scheme and the relaxed backyard feel, which is really what an inspiration board is all about – the ideas. I had Jordan Ferney’s darling purplic picnic box lunch in mind when I pulled these images together, and though there is something Spring-like to this look, I think it could work for a late summer or early fall picnic wedding reception too.

Mood: relaxed, sweet

Today’s inspiration board just isn’t working for me – not sure what it is, but it’s just not ready to make it’s debut. I’ll have that inspiration board for you tomorrow. Meantime, I hope you enjoy these links!

Made this for my honey’s birthday yesterday – it was perfect with blackberries.

It’s gray, ruffled, gorgeous

Happy birthday parties!

If I hadn’t just bought a new table, I’d definitely go for the chalkboard look.

Perfect gift for the plaid lover.

Not that I’m ready for 2010 or anything, but I do love this calendar.

I thought the days of covering books were behind me. Maybe not.

Great advice for business, for brides and for life.

Happy first day of fall everyone! Though I will certainly be posting some classic, rustic autumn inspiration boards this season, right now I’m really having fun playing with the idea of what works for fall. Can sweet pale pink be part of an autumn palette? I’ve paired it with cream and, most importantly, sepia, to give it a vintage look that would make for a stunning fall color scheme. Imagine fall leaves and acorns dusted with gold, rich textiles in shades of brown and pink, and I think you’ll see what I’m aiming for here. And though I sort of imagined this as a tea party wedding reception, it would certainly work for a luncheon, sit-down dinner, or dessert and champagne celebration.

Mood: sweet nostalgia with an autumn touch

Wild pops of orange against a cool gray backdrop and modern minimalism (that is still somewhat whimsical) define today wedding inspiration board, which was largely inspired by a little sneak peek from Amy Atlas’ upcoming dessert buffet (truffles arranged on a Missoni-inspired graphic print). For those of you aiming for a modern look, how are you achieving it? What’s inspiring you?
