I just love The Olema Inn, where Adrea and Dave were married. And of course, the couple loves it too. Says the bride:

First of all I love the drive out to Olema. Either way you go (up Highway 1 or Sir Francis Drake Boulevard) it is a beautiful drive. Dave and I had stayed at The Olema Inn before, and we had always loved the historic building with the naturally lit dinning room. When we got engaged we went out to the inn for lunch and decided right then that we would get married there. We didn’t even look anywhere else! The inn only has 6 rooms upstairs, so we had our immediate family stay with us.

We got married in the garden in the back – there are these beautiful brambly fruit trees in the garden that were full of apples and figs on our August wedding day.

From the groom: My favorite part of the wedding was first spying Adrea in her dress as she walked down the aisle. As per tradition I never saw or heard what the dress was like before that moment, and I actually said out loud, “Oh my god, she is so beautiful.”

Though I haven’t had the pleasure of visiting yet, Blue Hill at Stone Barns seems like one of the most special places for a wedding (or a meal for that matter). Janney and Benjamin picked it for their wedding “because of the lovely pastoral setting, delicious food, and proximity to New York City. Also, we both value sustainably raised, locally-sourced food and wanted our special day to reflect this.” Here, some of Karen Hill‘s beautiful pics from the day.

The couple’s Cairn Terrier featured prominently on the invitations by Sesame Letterpress (he also had a role in the ceremony!).

Janney and Ben took some photos in the fields of Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, a non-profit farm and education center at Stone Barns.

Nests and eggs under glass cloches fit the rustic setting perfectly.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns sources all of its ingredients from its surrounding fields and pastures, and from other local farms. Says Janney, “I should mention that we were thrilled with the wine pairings – each wine complemented its dish perfectly.” (See the full menu, plus wine pairings, at the bottom of the post.)

Janney’s advice to other brides: Just relax and have fun! On the day of, don’t sweat the details – at this point, you’ve probably done all the micro-managing that you can do. Also, hire the best professionals you can afford – they will take care of things for you!

One of the most incredible things to me about Jennifer and Mark’s wedding, is the way that all of the details perfectly complemented the naturally beautiful wedding. Says Jennifer of her wedding planner, Rebecca Reategui, “She’s a genius at middle-of-nowhere events!”

To make sure guests were comfortable, the couple offered blankets to keep warm, lavender insect repellent to keep any bugs away, and flip-flops to save feet from high heels.

Ornate frames and a pale blue trim dress up the escort card display board.

Jennifer’s father is from Louisiana, so mint juleps were an appropriate signature cocktail.

Apples and apple branches from the property made their way into lush centerpieces, as did peach and white garden roses, passion vine, andromeda flowers, acorns, pears and dusty miller. Calligraphed place cards were tied to the back of chairs, each one marked with either a cow, chicken or radish, corresponding to their entree choice. Tables were covered with pale blue paisley linens from La Tavola, and set with scallop-edged dinner plates.

The bride’s mother baked small chocolate layer cakes that Ariella Chezar decorated with oak leaves, acorns and roses. Flowers were arranged in a variety of silver vessels.
