Real Wedding: MacKenzie & Byron

This classic July wedding was sent to us from the talented Leah McCormick – love these photos! Napa Valley was not only the place where Byron proposed to MacKenzie, but it also made for a fun destination for the groom’s family, and is close to the bride’s family in California. Says MacKenzie, “We loved celebrating with family and close friends!”

The aisle was decorated with hanging baskets of white hydrangeas. The young flower girl came down the aisle in a special “Wedding Flyer” wagon.

Centerpieces were garlands of magnolia leaves, white roses and green apples.

MacKenzie’s advice for brides is simple: Enjoy the day!

Can you believe it – this weekend already marks the unofficial start of summer. How has time gone by so quickly? My husby and I will be grilling out with some friends, possibly tossing around a frisbee, and hopefully getting a little sun. Any suggestions for favorite picnic side dishes that I might contribute to the get together? I was thinking maybe some blue cheese cole slaw or a minted fruit salad, but I’d love to hear if you have any favorites you’d recommend.

Kate and Brett’s Kate Spade-inspired wedding is just too fun! Gold sequins and confetti tie together the bright and colorful palette…

Says Kate: My favorite moment of the day was walking into the courtyard toward Brett and our guests. It was a reminder of what the day was about. I was just so happy – happy to see Brett and all of the people who have been there for us.

Invitations were chosen by the groom from Minted, and the rest of the printed items were designed and printed by the bride. In lieu of a guest book, the couple asked their friends and family to write on little cards with prompts: Advice for the newlyweds…, Favorite moment with the bride and groom…, and Where do you see us in 25 years…

If you’re a long time reader of Snippet & Ink, then you know how much I love a classic green and white wedding – it’s always such a timeless choice, and a look that is easy to execute well. Today, I wanted to take that classic palette and give it a fun and preppy kick with some stripes: a skirt for the bridesmaids, an under cloth for the table, a tie for the groom. Maybe envelope liners, too? I love simple details that, while elegant, are totally DIY-able, like fruit bowl centerpieces and finger sandwiches. White calligraphy on green envelopes is a playful and updated touch. And the cap sleeved eyelet dress from Lilly Pulitzer is so perfectly preppy, it seemed made for this inspiration board.
