One of my favorite things about this job, is that I get to imagine a different wedding with every inspiration board. In this one, I wanted to combine playfulness and chic sophistication: orange and pink plus soft gray, retro wedding bells meet gorgeous calligraphy, a mini dress with long sleeves, cocktails and sweets following a city hall ceremony. This is an inspiration board I would love to see brought to life!

Mood: playfully elegant romance
Palette: dusty rose and peach, gray velvet, warm cream

Row 3: small chocolate cake photo by Elizabeth Messina, birdcage veil by Jennifer Behr for J.Crew, San Francisco City Hall, vintage book photo by Aaron Delesie

Confession: paper goods are what made me really fall in love with weddings. If we’re talking pretty details, printed items are probably my favorite of all, with a special place in my heart for letterpress. One of my favorite suites ever (the Zoe suite) was designed by Victoria at Milkfed Press, and has been included in several of my inspiration boards. You may have seen Victoria’s work in Martha Stewart Weddings, but if not, let me introduce you to a few designs from Milkfed’s brand new collection of wedding stationery, “Newly Betrothed.” (See below for how to win $500 toward the Milkfed design of your choice!)

Louis (this one is my favorite!)

Aren’t they charming?! And I promise you, they’re even more delightful when you get to hold them in your hand and feel the the texture of the paper and the letterpress. And one lucky Snippet & Ink reader will win $500 toward the Milkfed Press suite of your choice!

To enter, all you need to do is head over to Milkfed Press and check out all of the Newly Betrothed designs, then come back here and leave a comment letting us know which suite is your favorite. You have until 5:00PM PST on Thursday 2/23 to leave your comment, and I’ll announce the randomly selected winner on Friday 2/24.

Update! This contest is now closed to new entries!

It’s that time of year when we’re all ready to bid winter adieu and welcome spring with open arms, so I thought I’d remind us what’s so wonderful about winter with this darling engagement shoot of college sweethearts, Michael and Olivia.

Says photographer, Bryce Covey, “We had planned to do the engagement shoot, then the snow storm came to Seattle, and Michael and Olivia were still game. The sun peaked through the clouds during the session which made for the most amazing setting to take photos in. The snow stopped falling just for the hour that we shot – we couldn’t have planned it better.”

Best wishes Michael and Olivia! And thank you to Bryce Covey for sending over these sweet photos – I hope we’ll see more of your work soon!
