Select vendor Erin Kate has paired up with floral designer Nicole Land of Soil & Stem for this gorgeous berry- and emerald-hued inspiration shoot… I absolutely love the use of berries and mint leaves in these floral arrangements!
From Nicole: “We wanted to keep our look personal and organic. To achieve this vision, we used delicate detailing such as hand-lettered calligraphy, heirloom jewelry and flatware, French silk ribbon, and fresh mint sprigs harvested from the garden that morning. Vintage frogs were used to display seating assignments, menu, and invitation. We really loved the contrast of harsh metal against the supple fluidity of calligraphy. Floral frogs were also given as favors for wedding guests to use in their own garden bouquets or to display as art in their home.
“From the flowers to our signature spritzer and ice, you will find rich berry and orchid hues woven throughout the shoot. Our berry theme carried over (literally in berries!) to our boutonnieres and cake styling. We find these colors evoke passion, closeness, and creativity – a little of what every love story is made of. David Austin’s ‘Kate’ garden roses, named in honor of the Duchess of Cambridge, provide us with a magenta that is striking against other beautiful stems like ranunculus, stock, mint, and olive. Aside from color, Kate’s fragrance is fresh with delicious hints of raspberry, redcurrant, and geranium.
“My favorite part of the shoot was plucking a stray purpling ivy vine that had crept its way onto my lawn. Using ivy was never a part of my original design but it transformed into a lovely gestural member in my arrangements. Sometimes these small and inconsequential nuances can tie everything together to form a perfect marriage.”
