Board #181 | Take Me Out to the Ballgame…

Spring is here, baseball season has officially begun (I went to a game last night), and those trophy-filled centerpieces were too good to resist. Rather than go with a specific team’s colors, I went with white and brown for a vintage baseball feel. I’d put the bridesmaids in brown, or maybe white with brown pinstripes, and for one of the weekend activities I’d put together a baseball game of the bride’s side versus the groom’s side. If you wanted to include some color, you could add a little bit of red, pulled from the stitching on a baseball. My honey says that Miller High Life is noticeably absent from this wedding board – what other ideas would you incorporate into this vintage baseball-themed wedding?

Mood: playful, old-timey
Palette: white, brown, tan

ala A League of Their Own – a bat arch would be fun.

Have the guys wear the old school in red/pin striped socks.

    Bat cufflinks.

In the ribbon for wrapping the bouquet, have it show a sliver of red with the white – ala baseball stitching.

An entire website devoted to bunting? That is marvelous!

  • HappyAmy says:

The Food possibilities are endless. Cracker jacks, popcorn, peanuts in buckets. Hot dogs? And definitely beer. The programs could be modeled after old baseball programs as well. SO fun! Fiance would love it.

Such a fun board! I love it and I can know lots of couples that would love it.

  • Mara of ::the simpler things:: says:

What else will you come up with, Kathryn?! This is truly original! How do you come up with this stuff? : )

  • Cyndi Parrish says:

the toss bouquet could be softball size and shape, maybe habe the ushers in black tux pants withblack & white striped shirts, the ceremony could be at one of the many local parks that have a stadium and the minister could do the vows on the loud speaker with the Bride and groom at home plate and the attendants on the baselines… for a fancier event the Mac club and civic stadium would be perfect!!

  • I love the brown, green and white color scheme! So natural, sporty and fun- perfect for a springtime wedding. I love the trophy cup with the lilies, the boy with the cute hat and the white flag bunting!
