Here’s another thing I’m trying to remember as a bride: don’t take yourself so seriously. Have fun with the whole thing – I mean, it’s a party! Parties are fun! Pick up some bottles of bubbly, some packets of confetti, and get some of your favorite folks together – it can be as simple as that! Add some brightly-hued macarons, and you’ve got a modern take on the traditional cake and punch reception. In that spirit, and inspired largely by Chloe Aftel’s wonderful polaroid, I created today’s wedding inspiration board in a sweet lavender and gold palette, with playful details and a bit of humor. Champagne coupes flecked with gold stars add even more sparkle to fizzy libations. Gold polka dots are an unexpected addition to a wedding dress, striking the perfect balance between frivolity and sophistication. And I couldn’t resist including the pop-up wedding chapel, which is open until December 12 at Grand Opening in New York’s Lower East Side. Anyone?
Mood: girly and fun – and a little bit 80s?
Palette: sweet lavender, gold sparkle

i am loving your advice & inspiration! the macarons are absolutely adorable!
New Years Eve is such a great day to get married. The guests always have a great time. This board is great because it shows an alternative to the ususally darker color schemes used for NYE>
So light & bright & cheery! It truly looks like bubbly champagne, brought to life in a wedding! Beautiful & celebratory. Cheers!
One of my new favorites!!!
so light & fun. An unexpected twist on a New Years color palette.
I definitely see some '80s in there! Great stuff. Agreed re: not taking it too seriously. It's much easier for your guests to loosen up, mingle & have fun if the couple is lighthearted and enjoying very moment themselves.
This is great. I love it. awesome colors.
Love the soft Lavender and gold, very classy!
