For the third inspiration board in my mini red, white and blue series, I thought something a little retro and sassy would be fun. How about a ruffled tea length dress and a blue birdcage veil for the bride? And lots of fun patterns in bold colors, on bridesmaid dresses, table runners and letterpress coasters. For more inspiration in this color scheme, check out Joy’s pretty post on “a medley of mint and tomato.”

Love all the details with this one…the toile dress with the touch of red in the necklace, the tag with red string and I can just imagine red lipstick worn with that birdcage veil..:)
I really need that camera from Urban Outfitters…
the blue birdcage!!!!!!! gasp!!!!!
these are my very favorite colors and reminds me of my wedding. beautiful!
Oh this mood board is so fresh! I love aqua and crimson as a combo but this is a great take!
Love the textures here–especially all the ruffles & pleats. Leave it to Martha Stewart to make carnations work! Another beautiful board, Kathryn…!
Loving the shoe photo!
This cracks me up because it is almost exactly what I'm doing! These are my colors and I'm definitely retro-inspired. Shorter but poufy 50's style dress to show off my red peep-toes, Giant 'Wilma Flinstone' pearls, and a birdcage veil. I'm so in love with these colors.
What a splash of red won't do! This is the best use I've read I think I've ever seen! Stunning…
Beautiful. I love everything about this.
Since I peruse blogs all the time, an engaged friend asked me to collect inspiration she may like for her wedding. Most of the photos/objects/colors I save are from your blog. Your boards are always beautiful and so well thought out. Thank you for doing this!
Ahhhh these colours are gorgeous. I never in a million years would have paired them together, but seeing them side by side is stunning. I'm in love.
Oh my goodness! Janet Hill Studio! I love her paintings!! I found her through another Etsy seller's site. What a beautiful addition for lovely and peppy board!
Was so inspired by this palette I included it in our weekly round up, The Weekend Dishhttp://applesandonionsla.com/blog/Thank you for the inspiration!
These were exactly the colors of my wedding. So happy!
The colors! The vintage camera! Love it!
Gorgeous color palette, Kathryn!
Hey! A friend just sent me the link to this. That's ME in my wedding dress with all the pleats (and the shoes)! Made by my dear friend (and the most a-ma-zing dressmaker. EVER.) Melissa – visit melissablackburn.net for more dress deliciousness. More than 30,000 pleats on that dress. We carried the theme through with the shoes and even the cake. It was perfect. :)
