Board #60 | Rebeckah’s Miami-in-Toronto Wedding

I am really excited, because today I’m posting four boards, each one for a real bride. I have to say that some boards are definitely tougher than others, especially when I am making it for someone else, and especially if I don’t know that person, well, personally. But, I won’t post a board that I don’t think pulls together well or if it doesn’t create a strong vision for an event. So, to the ladies who these boards are for, I hope you find them helpful. To everyone else, enjoy!

This first board is for Rebeckah. She is interested in a Miami/South Beach sort of feel for her summer wedding at the Toronto Botanical Garden. I have to say, I just love botanical gardens (my honey and I had our first date here). They are beautiful, romantic, and full of inspiration. For this board, I wanted to make sure that there was a balance between the Miami theme and the botanical garden setting, so I put turquoise aside (because I don’t know about you, but when I think Miami, I think hot pink and turquoise). Instead, green cymbidium orchids, the ones with the pretty pink speckles, were my main inspiration: they add to a tropical feel, and the hot pink is very Miami but not overpowering. I also love the pink tulle accenting the ceremony chairs, and I think it would really pop at an outdoor ceremony. I also love the small cymbidium centerpiece, and I think that several of those on a long banquet table, or a cluster of them in the middle of a round table, would be gorgeous.

Mood: vibrant, tropical
Palette: green, hot pink

Beautiful ideas – Thanks for incorporating one of our monograms!

The funny thing was I was thinking pink and green too…even though I don’t really like pink.
I do love the board and the monogramed R which is cool seeing as both our names start with R.
    Great job
