I love powdery blues and pale petal pink together (with a little cream in there), and I think the pops of gold and fuchsia make it all extra romantic. For a more modern romantic take on a similar color scheme, check out Martha Stewart Weddings’ blue and nude “Perfect Palette.” How would you translate this color board into a wedding?

Even though navy blue and yellow usually make for a classically preppy combination, I love how unexpected they look here – sort of romantic and modern. For a wedding, I imagine this color board translating to rich blue linens, arrangements of white and saturated yellow flowers, and perhaps some accents of gold and gray. What about you? Could you see this as a wedding palette? Or what about a room in your home?

One of the things I love most about this color palette is that it’s equal parts romantic and modern – not too sweet, not too dramatic or bold. It would make for a beautiful wedding – perhaps in winter or spring? Something that I enjoy about these color boards is that the images in them don’t just convey a flat palette, they also express texture and depth. Even for those of you who don’t consider yourselves particularly design-minded, how would you translate this color board into a wedding (or other project)?

This is one of my very favorite color combinations. I think what I love most about it, is its versatility. I could imagine a wedding in these colors in summer, winter, and fall. In a rustic country setting, or perhaps a historic city building. What about you? Where do you see it?

Dark, moody colors can be just as difficult to work with as bright and bold ones, but they’re just as wonderful. The charcoal gray and deep purple here, accented with pale lavender, would be lovely in winter or fall, don’t you think?
