Something sweet and romantic for a summer wedding – maybe something on the coast, with touches of Victorian romance. And the word whimsy is unavoidable here!

Today’s wedding board was totally inspired by this darling retro camper – the red and white, the urge to hit the road, and something fun that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Red and white checks play a big role in this inspiration board, turning it into something like a traveling picnic wedding. Whether this is the kind of wedding you’re going for or not, I hope it gets you ready for summer!

Mood: casual summer simplicity
Palette: picnic red and white

Can you tell that I’m ready for summer? And that I’m really loving this lawn green right now? I also like this as an option for a pink-and-green palette…

Yes, I know – we’ve already covered how much I love green and white, and whenever I’m feeling pressed for a color palette, I challenge myself to make a green and white inspiration board that looks new. I’m not sure if this succeeds at that, but I sure do love the various shades here, and the old fashioned garden look. For any of you who are struggling with choosing wedding colors, I suggest that you strongly consider this simple palette. It will work in almost any venue, every season, and it can be made to look however you like, from romantic to traditional to sleek and modern.

Mood: old-fashioned garden romance

I love the colors found in this photo of old jewelry boxes – that pale, barely there seaglass blue, and that orange! I would call it rust, but it’s far to soft and velvety for that. I think this would make for a beautiful summer palette – it’s fresh, yet there’s something classically romantic about it. Perhaps for a wedding in the desert, or on the beach.

Mood: fresh romance
Palette: seaglass, orange velvet
