I know this palette isn’t especially original, but I still find it utterly lovely. A variety of sweets and flowers, a stack of books in lieu of the ring pillow, the bride in a gorgeous chocolate gown, and a lovely little box of found objects add whimsy to this romantic wedding board.

Mood: romantic, whimsical
Palette: chocolate, Tiffany blue, ivory

Napa Valley might seem like a wedding cliche, but there’s a reason for it – California’s wine country is classic, gorgeous and romantic, and I thought it would be a nice way to end this series of regionally-inspired boards. I obviously haven’t even begun to cover all of the possibilities with only seven boards, so I’d love to hear your ideas. What regions do you have in mind? How would you play up that region in a wedding?

A rustic, quaint log chapel, a bride in cowboy boots, horseshoes, s’mores, and a mechanical bull – all perfect elements for a wedding in Wyoming. And how about a boutonniere made from a hand-tied fly? Incorporate wild grasses into your bouquets and centerpieces, and wrap vases with birch bark, or maybe use vintage fishing creels in lieu of vases.

Mood: summer in the mountains
Palette: barnwood, wild grass, aspen

In this Midwestern wedding board, pale pastels work well with golden wheat. Cross-stitch invitations and quilts play up folk-art traditions. Overall, a charming and low-key wedding in the heartland…

Hi all! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. I don’t know if it’s that I’m itching to travel, but this week I thought I’d continue with the regionally-inspired wedding boards. Today we head to the charming island of Nantucket with an inspiration board complete with Nantucket reds, lobster and clams, seashells and a lighthouse. Wouldn’t this preppy, laid-back party be perfect for showing out-of-town guests a good time?

Mood: classic seaside, preppy casual
Palette: Nantucket red, sky blue, clamshell gray, white
