If there are any colors that summer really showcases, it’s green and yellow. Once the trees have lost their blossoms, but before the grass dries up, greens and yellows dominate summer landscapes – as they do this wedding inspiration board.

Mood: relaxed summer charm
Palette: shades of green, yellows

This palette isn’t a far departure from one of last week’s boards, but I think this one is a little less formal, more playful. Right now I’m really loving these colors together, and think they would make for a lovely wedding. I especially love the cake with the bell topper and the groom with an orange shirt under a white suit. If this were an outdoor wedding, it might be nice to set up some white sofas for lounging outside of the tent.

Mood: cheerfully sophisticated
Palette: yellow, peach, pink, orange, fuchsia

This wedding inspiration board centers around the palette found in Tim Walker’s beautiful photo, that I found awhile back on m.writes. The deep burgundy of the bougainvillea and the navy of her dress make for a striking and somewhat unusual palette for a wedding, especially a summer wedding (though I think it would work well for autumn, too).

Mood: late summer drama
Palette: burgundy, claret, navy blue

Today’s board was inspired by that beautiful yellowed tint that old papers take on, or the sepia tones of old photographs. I imagine a wedding with lots of warm filtered light, faded yellows, and a slightly vintage feel. Not vintage, but at least a sense of it. And I am absolutely in love with that dress.

Mood: warm, light
Palette: faded yellows, cream, sun-bleached white, sepia

The initial inspiration for this board was the incredible turquoise chandelier – how amazing would it be to have several of those adorning your reception space? It is opulent, yet still somewhat modern, which is what I tried to do with this board. The combinations of turquoise and black, orchids and damask, I think make for an interesting look that is dramatic and elegant.

Mood: opulent, modern
Palette: turquoise, black, white
