How fabulous is that horseshoe table with that fabulous red tablecloth and orange lanterns (found via Elizabeth Anne Designs)? That was the main inspiration for this sassy outdoor summer wedding board. Also, I think nasturtiums and limes are an excellent choice for a palette, because they are both fun and bold, and you can include them in so many other elements (nasturtiums on salad, limes in drinks and desserts). I know I could probably say this about most of the inspiration boards I post, but I would love to go to this wedding.

Mood: sassy, fun summer elegance

Hello all! I hope everyone had a great week, and that you’re as excited as I am to see inspiration boards return. Even though spring officially started last week, it was still snowing in my neck of the woods on Friday. But, it appears that spring has truly arrived in most places, and I thought I’d start back up with a bright and colorful tented wedding, largely inspired by this gorgeous bouquet photographed by Mallory Samson. (Wouldn’t those quilts draped over a fence make for a fun guest photo backdrop?)

Mood: vivacious and vibrant
Palette: fuchsia, yellow, orange, pale pink, green

One of the best things about making inspiration boards everyday, is that I can transport myself to wherever I’m in the mood to go. I couldn’t be more ready for full-blown springtime, so I thought I’d make a springtime inspiration board (it would certainly work for an early summer wedding, too). I can’t wait to go home to California for a week, and this inspiration board takes me right there. And did you notice the server with the plate of apricots? What a lovely detail for after dinner.

Mood: sweet, light, springtime
Palette: gray, yellow, white, peach, green

If you could be instantly transported to any place and time, right now, through an inspiration board, what would that look like?

Sorry for the late post today folks!

I loved this photo of the old-school station wagon picnic, so I thought I’d use it to create this inspiration board. This is one of those boards that by no means has to be for a wedding – I think this would be a fun birthday picnic, maybe in late summer or early fall. Or early spring for that matter.

Mood: woodsy retro chic
Palette: faded pistachio, brown, cranberry red
