It’s that time of year when we’re all ready to bid winter adieu and welcome spring with open arms, so I thought I’d remind us what’s so wonderful about winter with this darling engagement shoot of college sweethearts, Michael and Olivia.

Says photographer, Bryce Covey, “We had planned to do the engagement shoot, then the snow storm came to Seattle, and Michael and Olivia were still game. The sun peaked through the clouds during the session which made for the most amazing setting to take photos in. The snow stopped falling just for the hour that we shot – we couldn’t have planned it better.”

Best wishes Michael and Olivia! And thank you to Bryce Covey for sending over these sweet photos – I hope we’ll see more of your work soon!

It’s not often that we feature engagement sessions, but as soon as I saw Blaire and Dave’s beautiful love shoot, I emailed Britt Chudleigh about sharing her photos with you. I’m so glad she said yes!

What’s sweeter than snuggling up with your honey on a hammock?

I’m not gonna lie – these pool photos are my favorites!

Proof that all you need for a rad love shoot is your own personal style and the one you love (and an awesome photographer, of course). See even more of Blaire and Dave’s gorgeous engagement photos over on Britt Chudleigh’s blog!

There is nothing I love more than opening an email from a Snippet & Ink reader, and finding stunning photos like these – it makes my week! Lara and Oliver were just married in June, but this spring they met up with photographer Aneta Mak in Oxford, England, to take these beautiful engagement shots.

Says Lara: For our engagement photos, we walked along cobblestone streets, climbed under electric fences to roam around grand pastures, and strolled alongside punters in the river. We happened to find a beautiful cherry blossom tree, and took advantage of the petals covering the plush grass.

Lara tells a little about their story: I am from the New York and worked for Anthropologie for eight years, traveling to visually direct store openings, on the road three weeks a month for four years. I was living in hotels and airports, and one day I literally began to dream of England – I was dreaming in a British accent! I knew it was time to make a massive change, and create my version of the European semester abroad to experience culture across the pond. This was very unlike me – friends thought it was truly our of character – but as they say, fortune favors the bold. After just four days in London, I was introduced to my (now) husband!

Congratulations Lara and Oliver! Thank you so much for sharing your engagement shoot with us – we can’t wait to see the wedding photos! Oh, and check out Lara’s website for some of her lovely design work.

It’s been such a long time since we had a love shoot on Snippet & Ink, but I just love how sweet and simple Mike Carreiro‘s photos of these high school sweethearts are. No props, nothing fussy or fancy, just a pretty location and two kids in love…

Doesn’t it make you want to go hold hands with your sweetie in a field? Thanks to Mike from Studio Eleven for sending over these pics. (Shot in Laguna Canyon, California.)

You are going to love Katie and Jeff’s vintage-inspired engagement photos – they just scream summer love, don’t they? Perfect for the first day of June! Katie is a professional swing dancer, the couple met at a swing club, and they have a love for all things vintage, so a vintage-inspired love shoot was so perfect for them. And, appropriately, the brothers Wright used their awesome multitude of vintage cameras to capture it all…

Doesn’t everything about this black and white photo look like it came straight out of the forties? I love it!

Say photographers Brian and Brandon Wright: The location for these photos is just down the road from Katie and Jeff’s new place in Pasadena, at Eaton Canyon. It was quite a challenge hiking to the falls, crossing the river over a dozen times, but it was well worth it. There were actually over 100 people watching us shoot, but somehow we managed to have a lot of fun with it and still pull it off. Pretty much everything you see is vintage 1930s, 40s and 50s, from Katie’s swimsuit to Jeff’s bow tie.

See tons more vintage goodness from this love shoot over on the B. Wright Photo blog. Happiest wishes Katie and Jeff!
