There were so many beautiful photos from Kavi and David’s wedding that I had to turn it into two posts! 300 guests joined for the wedding weekend, starting with this Friday mendhi party. Says Kavi: “We were inspired by having friends and family together, not having too much ceremony and attention on us, and just having a great party with lots of boozy dancing!”

Kavi wore a dress by Tarun Tahiliani, Stella McCartney shoes, and her mother’s jewelry from India.

Guests were invited to help themselves to bangles.

Guests played lawn games like bocce ball and cricket.

One of Kavi’s favorite parts of the weekend was when her friends performed a Bollywood dance. “All the dances and performances at the menhdi meant so much to us. Cousins, brothers, sisters, friends – so special.”

Make sure you stop by in a bit for Part II of Kavi and David’s wedding weekend! All photos by Justin & Mary.

Once again, I’m always blown away by the beautiful photography on your site. This post made me so happy. I have many friends of different ethnicities and love seeing the beautiful and different weddings that take place with various culture. My best friend’s cousin (american) married into an Indian family and had a beautiful and colorful wedding. They did the Henna tatoos and dancing and wore traditional clothing and their festivities took place over several days. This reminded me of those photos. Hudson Valley is spectacular and I love how the colors and layers of the wedding were captured. Your site is not only for weddings is such a creative inspiration for me. So glad I found it.

Beautiful wedding. I LOVE the bride’s jewelry. It is amazing how other cultures have even started to influence mainstream jewelry. The JIC website says lace like jewelry and medallion and pendants are the in thing right now! I am glad that designers are taking inspiration for all different places.
