Though they live in New York, neither Lauren nor Adam is from the city – she’s from Colorado and he’s from Vancouver. They wanted to get married in the city where they met and fell in love, but they also wanted a venue that didn’t feel quite so urban, so they chose the New Leaf Cafe in Fort Tryon Park.
I absolutely love Lauren’s gauzy, blush pink dress from Lanvin – a beautiful wedding dress you could wear again and again!
Guests found their seats with the help of fabric boutonnieres tagged with table numbers.
Says Lauren, “We didn’t pick wedding colors because we wanted everything to have a very natural feel that would fit well within the park. So instead we used materials like brown kraft paper, cork, raw wood and tea-dyed cheese cloth to achieve that look. The flowers helped bring in a subtle element of color that was just enough pop.”
The cake sat on a jadeite pedestal cake stand, and was simple adorned with origami cranes.

One of my first intros to snippetandink. Her wedding is so perfect. Especially the cute origami cranes on the cake atop a jade colored pedestal. I want it!
WOW! This is my ideal wedding. I want a daytime ceremony at Fort Tryon and, while I’m not sure I want to do the reception at New Leaf, all the wedding photos I see from there are gorgeous!!! Congrats to the lucky couple and Kudos! for doing an au naturel, understated event in a city that is always so overdone.
