It must be that it’s springtime, because I just can’t bring myself to create any indoor inspiration boards right now! I know I’ve posted several other green and black and white boards before, but ever since seeing Coty Farquhar’s gorgeous afternoon tea post, I couldn’t wait to put something together that incorporated black and white gingham into a casual garden wedding. From the groom’s casual shirt, to the checkered tablecloth, to the ribbons around honey jar favors and hanging flowers, black and white gingham is somehow both totally laid back and still refined. Maybe it will be the new damask…

Oh, and happy happy birthday little sister! I LOVE YOU!

Mood: garden casual, simple elegance
Palette: black and white gingham, garden green

I love this board. I like the touch of green. It’s not too much and it’s not the bright green that everybody does lately. I think it’s safe to say that you will probably have some green at your wedding, right? :)

Thanks so much for the link Kathryn! I’m definitely loving the black + white combo right now – either stripes or gingham – particularly when paired with a pastel. And as always, you’ve created a lovely board!

We used vintage gingham half aprons to decorate around the bar and the food tables at our wedding. We had every color you could think of! I was afraid it would look too muddled having all those colors but everyone LOVED IT! And now that I’m starting to get some pics from the guests I think it looks even better than I could have imagined!
