GIVEAWAY! | Win a Seat at the Petals & Penmanship Workshop

Maybelle Imasa-Stukuls did the calligraphy for my wedding day, and she’s one of our Select vendors – needless to say, when I heard about her Petals & Penmanship workshop with floral designer Tulipina, I couldn’t wait to share it with you! And then she emailed me with the opportunity to give one Snippet & Ink reader a free seat in the upcoming class on April 19th, and I knew you would be just as excited about it as I am!

Learning calligraphy from Maybelle would be a dream come true!

Maybelle and Kiana’s together teaching a class! Honestly, I can’t describe what it is i wouldn’t learn!!. Being a newbie to both floral arrangements and calligraphy I’d have to say, I would like to learn how to correctly sit and hold a pen when writing in calligraphy style and what vase and flower you can always use in order to have a no fail arrangement:) Thank you for the opportunity!

  • What an incredible giveaway!!! This would be such a treat to learn calligraphy from Maybelle and play with flowers with Tulipina. I have been yearning to learn calligraphy for my packaging to clients and so winning this giveaway would just thrill my heart. Plus, I love San Francisco, so any excuse to make a little trip out there is always welcome. :)

My grandmother loved working with flowers and experimenting with calligraphy. I have since inherited all of her books on these two subjects and always think of her as I flip through her books and play with flowers and letters myself. For my upcoming wedding I have hand lettered all of the envelopes (using about double the envelopes I thought I would) but am hoping to learn more about flowers, their meanings, and of course brushing up on how I can improve my calligraphy. This workshop looks wonderful!

  • Caroline says:

My handwriting is so terrible I wasn’t allowed to touch the invitations for my sister’s wedding. All I could do was lick the stamps. I would love to learn calligraphy and practice it so I can make beautifully addressed envelopes! And, of course, write my sister a letter to show off my new-found skills.

    • Katie H. says:

Well, you were a very good stamp licker and let’s not forget licking envelopes, too.

  • Sabrina Ann says:

Oh to be a pupil at Petals & Penmanship! I hope to learn to prepare pretty petals & produce a praise-worthy posy. Perhaps perfect my push of the pointed pen printing Poppies, Peonies, & Pansies?

  • LOVE this workshop combo…brilliant! It is just so much fun making pretty things and learning new skills. What a treat it would be to attend! Thanks for posting this opportunity…

  • Kathy hunt says:

Oh wow! What a perfect pairing! My son is getting married this fall and I’ve had one class with Maybelle which was such a treat. I’d love the opportunity to work with her some more! Combine calligraphy with flowers and I’ll be set for all kinds of wedding action!! Please pick ME!!

  • Kim says:

This is a dream combo! I’ve got 4 kids and this class would 1. Give me a relaxing break and 2. Enable me to show them how to create beautiful things… (Plus I’m a huge fan of Maybelle!)

  • Katie H. says:

Oh, my, would I love to attend this workshop. I’d love to learn how to angle my pen to play with thick and thin lines. It would also be great to play with that much floral variety- rarely do I get my hands on more than a few types of blooms at a time.

  • Adelaide says:

I would love to learn some basics that I could use to address my own invitations and continue to use to address letters for years to come! I love sending mail, so this would be perfect for me!

  • HNR says:

Wow, what an amazing opportunity! Lettering my invitations and escort cards (rocks from Bodega Bay!) and doing my own flowers are actually the two “DIY” projects I am planning to do for my August wedding in Oakland :) I would be most excited to learn the principles and basics of both crafts, to have a foundation with which to play off of. Also, it’d be such a treat to spend the day with creative Bay Area women!

  • A Petals and Penmamship workshop? Yes please! I tried joining one of Maybelle’s calligraphy workshops last year but I was too late and it was full! Would love to attend this one. Sounds like a great creative Saturday!

  • Michele says:

It would be such a treat to win this! Hopefully I’d be able to do the letter for my escort cards, favor tags, etc :)

  • Oh my goodness, what a dream! I’ve played a bit with calligraphy and spend lots of time practicing my handwriting, but working with Maybelle would be such an incredible opportunity–plus, who could say no to flowers upon flowers?

  • Jenn says:

Flower arrangement would be awesome. Now I can level up my skills. J.L.

  • Carolyn says:

I just went to my brother’s wedding and they had beautiful flower arrangements. I would be super excited to learn how to do this myself!

  • Lauren says:

I’m getting married this year, and it would help keep the cost down if I could write the invitations by hand. What a beautiful thing it would be to learn calligraphy!

  • NAN W says:

Calligraphy and arranging beautiful flowers- what joy! This class is a dream come true. I can’t imagine anything more wonderful than this opportunity to learn elegant penmanship and the intricacies of designing with beautiful blooms!
