Happy Weekend!

As I write this I’m sitting here with my honey watching the NFL Draft, and I have to say, I don’t really get it. I mean, I get it, but I don’t get why people want to watch it. Am I missing something? Now the Oreos I’m eating as I watch it? Those I get. Mmmmm…

Some fun links for you to kick off your weekend:

Cheerful yellow and a cute short-haired bride.

Gorgeous monogram font.

Don’t you want to buy your undies here?

The bad-ass inside me loves this. The bride in me loves this.

Won’t you invite me to your mad tea party? via mint.

The music room.

I’m thinking this bag would like to come to the beach with me.

Backpacking kitty.

Snips and snails and puppy dog tails.

Bumper stickers for your shoes and modern in miniature, both via A Cup of Jo.

Love story, 1980.

Wooden churches in northern Russia, via banquet.

After two years teaching kindergarten there, the Mississippi Delta holds a special place in my heart, via wishfulfillment who taught there, too.

Have a wonderful weekend, lovelies!

The NFL draft makes no sense to me either, especially since it is a three day event. The NBA draft is much more exciting and is over in three hours.

I love the picture from Marie Antoinette. Now off to read your lovely links!

I watched the first round of the draft with my man. It's probably like us watching our reality shows or awards shows, you know? Also, if your man plays fantasy football, like mine does, his wheels may be turning about the upcoming season. Go Redskins! (even though I live in AR which is Dallas Cowboys country)

I always love your Friday links. Happy weekend! xoxo.

Great links and now I want to watch Marie Antoinette. Ugh…love that movie and the pic!

I look forward to your weekly round-ups all week. You have a way of finding the most interesting posts from around the web! I really didn't follow any blogs until I started planning my wedding, but I just wanted to say that I think your blog is fabulous, and I really enjoy it. I'm also a TFA alum! Philly '04!

  • CaraBella says:

It's making a little sense to me — what I'm really digging is all the emotion from these huge guys :D — I love it! I don't know what any of these positions are, but I'm enjoying it — hope it gets better for ya ;)

Yeah, the NFL draft is hard to understand. I left my husband and went blogging on my wedding resource site. Weddings are something that's more exciting than the draft! Am I right? Nice post!

  • Karen says:

Actually, I love watching the NFL draft! I watch it streaming online. The great thing about it is seeing where your favorite college players get to start their pro career. Also, it clues you in a little about the composition of the NFL teams for next year.

I guess you do have to be a sports fan to really enjoy it. But even if not, sometimes the players' emotions are heartwarming.

  • Kathryn says:

Thanks for the input about the NFL Draft! While I enjoy watching football, I didn't go to a college with any kind of football pride, so I don't have a huge interest in where college players go. But good point, Karen and CaraBella – I definitely appreciate the emotion!

My fiance was watching the NFL draft on television at his grandparents' (we don't have cable). He also had his team's homepage open to watch/listen to coverage of the draft online. When I asked him how he could listen to the streaming coverage on an earbud in one ear and watch it on TV at the same time, his grandmother told me "he has two ears!" and started telling me stories of his childhood, in which he was famous for multitasking.

I still don't get the NFL draft, but hey, at least I got to hear some laughs about him as a kid!

  • Kate says:

I'm another fan of the draft. My husband and I started watching it together back when we were dating and it's become quite the little tradition. We open a bottle of wine and chat about who picks who, etc. It's great to see the guys we've watched and rooted for {and against!} over the past 3 or 4 years realize their dream. I can't imagine the feeling, but I still cry when they cry! I'm a nut…and a HUGE football fan! I am proud to say that my team/school {Univ. of Alabama} had 7 players drafted this year. Roll Tide!
