Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday, friends – I hope everyone had a wonderful week. My honey and I are entering into that phase of wedding planning where all the things that need to get done, need to get done. We found his suit at Ralph Lauren last weekend, and let me just say, he looks pretty darn handsome in it (and by pretty darn, I mean reeeally). And thank you to everyone for your suggestions of places to look. My mom and I went to Britex and found some gorgeous fabric for her mother-of-the-bride outfit, and then we went and tried on shoes (still looking for the right pair). Oh, and I got to visit our printer’s studio and see how the letterpress process works – I always loved letterpress, but seeing all the precision and time that goes into it gives me a whole new appreciation. Lots of wedding things happening! What about you? Where are you in your planning process?

  • Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog – it’s really lovely! The *real weddings* feature is super fun to see and the inspiration boards are beautiful. Have a wonderful weekend!

  • Kathryn,
Are you still looking for shoes for yourself, or your mom? I got married about 2 months ago, and wore Angela Nuran shoes. They are not inexpensive, but they might have been the best splurge of all. I broke them in by wearing them around my apartment for about 2 weeks before the wedding, and the day of I climbed rocks by the ocean for pictures and walked around cobblestone streets to our hotel from the after party and wore my shoes the whole night. My feet not only looked cute, but they were quite comfortable. I’m not affiliated with that company at all, just had a really good experience with my shoes.
    Good luck!

My fiance and I took an intro to letterpress workshop. We loved the process so much we decided to custom design our save the dates, and rent studio time at a letterpress studio to hand letterpress print all our save the dates! It was an awesome experience, and letterpress is so amazing! I am glad you could experience and see how your invitations were made! Now I just need to finish my envelope liners and get my save the dates in the mail! Best to you for your wedding!

  • Letterpress sounds lovely! for us, a year has almost past since our engagement and a year left to go. I’ve got all the ‘big’ things taken care of (the dress, venue, church, caterer and photographer). I’m starting to work on invites and all the paper extras with a graphic design friend. I’m looking into all the different styles of invites, papers and types of printing. the options seem endless! I’m also starting to put together all my DIY projects (which I am really excited about) and so many friends and family want to help that it will get done in no time!

I can’t wait to see your wedding come together. it’s so exciting!

    xx Kirby

One of my friends bought a brand new perfume for her wedding day–something that would be special and remind her of the day. I thought that was such a good idea that I did it too; and without my telling him, my fiancee had had the same idea and bought himself a special cologne.
