I have a link round-up coming up before heading out for the Thanksgiving holiday, but first, a beautiful wedding full of rustic elegance…

I love this special detail from Kendall: “My nine beautiful flower girls brought me small bouquets that when put together created my bouquet. Each had a special message wrapped around it too – so cute.”

Says Kendall, “The wedding ceremony was magical. It was so personal and heartfelt. We made it our own and I adored every minute of it.”

Centerpieces included rustic details like a moss runner, and elegant elements like candles and white roses.

Why did you choose this location for your wedding?  We fell in love going up to the mountains of Highlands so there was no hesitation when we got engaged. We both knew that is where it would be.

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding?  I am an interior designer so I wanted my home style to come across in the wedding which is a warm understated elegance with lots of natural touches. The color palette was neutral, earth colors, only green and white flowers, birch trees and tons of candles – just like my home designs. The idea was to be different, creative and most importantly to reflect me and Patrick.

What was your favorite moment or part of the day?  By far my favorite moment of the day was right after Patrick and I walked down the isle hand and hand as a married couple. We didn’t really know where to go, so we just stood in the living room and watched the gospel group lead the wedding party down the aisle. Next thing I knew, Patrick and I were surrounded by our family and friends all packed in the living room while the gospel group belted out “Oh Happy Day.” We danced and sang and we never wanted them to stop! I get goose bumps just thinking about it.

Were there any surprises in the day?  If I had my way there would have been seven “bridesmen” in the wedding also. Instead, we created a very special reading for them to help with. In the middle of the ceremony these dear friends stood up one by one reciting lines from Corinthians 13, which was a surprise to all the guests. At the end of the reading, they finished by each saying a line of what love means to them – that part was a complete surprise for us.

What was the best advice you received as a bride?  I guess the best advice a received was let people help. I am the type to do it all myself but once I was able to tell people how they could help, everything seemed to be a little easier. People love to help! I also made sure to not get worked up about things going wrong. Nobody really notices what goes wrong, so no it’s use worrying about it.

Your video was so fun to watch! Makes me want to dance, especially the part where it showed all the guests on the dance floor showing their ‘moves.’ Hahaha! The venue is impressive! The hanging shelves with candles placed on it; the tables and its center pieces; the place of the ceremony; everything worked out beautifully for the event.

So beautiful! I am dying to know how you made the “windows” behind the altar. I live in NC, too, so if you by chance purchased them around here, I would love a referral!!
