What inspired you when you were planning your wedding? The reception room itself. Every room in the mansion inspired our wedding decor – I wanted to make sure the venue and the decor complemented each other.
Did you include any traditions in your wedding? Something new was my wedding gown. Something old were my vintage earrings. Something borrowed and something blue was my blue cocktail dress.
What was the best advice you received as a bride? Enjoy your wedding day!
What advice do you have for other couples in the midst of planning a wedding? Focus on what is most important to you. Be fearless and chase after your dream wedding!
Why did you choose this location for your ceremony? It was a convenient location for everyone, and the estate allows you to use most of their rooms and spaces. And it has such an elegant feel.
Your ceremony in three words. Intimate, romantic, non-traditional.
What were your ceremony readings? We asked our officiant to read a short poem before we said our vows. I got bits and pieces of it from readings I came across online.
Who officiated your ceremony? Our friend officiated our ceremony. Asking a friend to officiate was the best choice—nothing feels more intimate than having your friend marry you and then later joining you for the celebration!

What was your favorite thing about your wedding ceremony? The room itself. It was windy and chilly that day, but being in that beautiful glass room we were thankfully all able to enjoy the sun without the wind.
Is there anything else that helps tell the story of your wedding? Sharing alone time with my husband after the ceremony was especially romantic because he surprised me with a letter he wrote. I read it in front of him and it was the sweetest part of the whole day.
How would you describe your reception? Elegant. Gold candlesticks and crystal vases really made the look.
Are there any DIY details you’d like to tell us about? We purchased a gold ornate mirror to use as the seating chart, and my mother-in-law wrote the entire guest list onto the mirror.
