Oh, I love red when it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Cherry red. Poppy red. Paired with cream and a few touches of the palest pink, red is playful and cheerful, rather than overly dramatic. I imagined a winter wedding when creating this inspiration board, but I think this palette could easily be translated into a spring or summer wedding. The yarn-wrapped vase by Paul Lowe is a simple detail that adds so much texture and interest, and I think a yarn-wrapped bouquet stem would work here, too. A variety of fun patterns adds to the playfulness of this look.

Mood: whimsical, bright

It’s not a particularly new color combination, but I still like it. I wonder if we’ll look back fifteen years from now and see yellow and gray as a totally dated trend, or if it’s a new classic. Either way, I was inspired by this post from Chelsea, and couldn’t resist yet another yellow and gray wedding board. Though there is something undeniably springy about these colors, I do think you could make it work for fall, maybe by including a little orange in there, or going with a more marigold yellow rather than lemon.

Mood: spring charm
Palette: lemon yellow, sidewalk gray

Hello friends! I’m sorry about the late post today – I finished this inspiration board on the later side last night, and since I’m coming down with a cold, I couldn’t bring myself to stay awake long enough to post it. But, despite my head being in a total fog, here it is. This is what I consider a perfectly refined – without being fussy – yet rustic autumn wedding board for October first. Though I’ve used it before, I wanted to pull together another inspiration board around the barn in the upper left corner, but nothing seemed to work until the very talented Elizabeth Dye posted about her clever cocktail dress made from an old wedding gown. Once I saw that, I knew just what this autumn wedding board should look like.

Mood: unfussy refinement, autumn rustic
Palette: barnwood, pumpkin-gold, plum red
