Not many flowers come in blue, blue signature cocktails look like Windex (I’m sorry, but nothing you’re supposed to eat should be that color), but blue patterns – both on fabric and on paper – are some of my favorites. And, largely inspired by the darling blue church photo by Laura Dombrowski, I thought I’d play with blue in a more rustic setting.

I have loved Karen Wise’s gorgeous photo of the mendhi and the shoes for awhile, and finally got around to making a wedding board with it. Because of the soft color of the photo, I imagine an Indian-inspired garden wedding, pairing pale pink roses with bolder fuchsia details.

Mood: Indian-inspired garden romance
Palette: shades of pink, white, garden green

There are several images here that I just couldn’t stop thinking about, including Zooey Deschanel in that fabulous dress and the patent leather shoes, but the central point of inspiration for this wedding board is the beautiful vintage cosmetics poster. What I ended up with is a sort of hybrid of French and American retro glam, and I think this sassy palette and look would be perfect for a couple with an awesome sense of style and fun.

Mood: sassy retro glam

Someone once said to me that vineyard weddings are a cliché. My answer to that would be, they’re a cliché the way roses are a cliché, and traditional vows, and wearing white, and having a Champagne toast. I certainly appreciate deviating from things just because that’s they way they’ve always been done, but there is also something to be said for tradition and classic style. If you want something classic, don’t avoid it just because it has been done before, because the truth is, even if you get married while skydiving or wearing a plaid wedding dress, you and your fiancé/e are the most unique thing about your wedding. I say, do what you want!

And what I wanted to do was make a classic vineyard wedding board today, full of grapes straight off the vine, and herbal details such as a lavender motif on the invitations and rosemary in the boutonnieres.

Mood: classic vineyard elegance
Palette: green, white

Hi friends! Sorry for the late post today – I am finally completely moved! Today’s wedding board was inspired by the incredible tent in the top corner, both for color and for the feel of it. I don’t know that a destination wedding would be for me, but either way it’s nice to have a little getaway in the middle of the week.

Mood: warm, exotic
Palette: orange, turquoise, lime green, sand
