Kelly from Kelly Oshiro Design and Santa Barbara Chic shared her sister’s sweet English wedding with me, and we thought it would be fun to cross-post about it, so you can also catch more photos and details on her blog. Such a sweet rainy day wedding!

Bridesmaids wore matching lavender dresses, and carried small bouquets of roses and hydrangea.

Mark wore a traditional morning suit. Tracy wore less traditional galoshes for walking around in the rain.

Tracy customized menus from Wedding Paper Divas with Florentine paper from Paper Source and wax seal monograms. Blue toile runners added extra charm to the tables.

Thank you to Kelly Oshiro for sharing her sister’s darling wedding with us! Read some of Kelly’s posts about the planning here, here, and here. But first, some details from the lovely bride!

Why did you choose this location for your wedding?  Richmond is one of our favorite places to go. It is right on the Thames and has beautiful parks. We chose a registration office as we didn’t want a religious ceremony and the garden there was perfect for post wedding pictures.

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding?  We wanted to make sure that the day was a true reflection of Mark and myself. We wanted to make the day as intimate as possible and make sure that our guests would have a great time.

What was your favorite moment or part of the day?  When we arrived at the venue for the reception and we could see all the flowers and table arrangements come together. It was great to see all the time and effort we had put in to set this up come to life for all our guests.

Did you include any traditions in your wedding?  We decided not to spent the night together before the wedding and Mark and I did not see each other before the ceremony at all. I also did the something old, something new, and something blue tradition. My something old was a vintage cardigan to wear for the cold English nights, Tracy’s something new was her dress, and the something borrowed was my sister’s purse from her wedding. And the something blue was my garter.

What was the best advice you received as a bride?  To remember that this is our wedding. I think sometimes you can get caught up in what you should do, or what people expect you to do. Remember to keep focus as to what is important to you.

What advice do you have for other brides?  To remember that everything will work out in the end, and to relax. Also, I wish I would have had some champagne before we took are wedding photos because I think I would have felt more relaxed while taking them!
