Husband and wife team Stone and Shelby Crandall sent over these photos from a rainy day wedding at Santa Barbara’s Rancho Dos Pueblos, and I’m excited to have a chance to share their beautiful work with you! Michelle and Ryan’s wedding is full of rustic and romantic details that I knew you’d enjoy…
Michelle and Ryan answered some questions for us about their wedding day:
Why did you choose this location for your wedding? Although we live in New York City, we are from Northern California and with all our family and friends still living there, we knew we would be getting married out west. Rancho Dos Pueblos was the last location we visited, and we both fell in love with it. It is completely secluded and totally gorgeous, but not over the top fancy. Also, the property includes a beach, a barn, beautiful lawns, and also a gorgeous historic house on the property for us to rent the week of. By the time our wedding day came, it felt like home to us!
What inspired you when you were planning your wedding? We were originally inspired by our love of travel and realizing that our relationship had taken us to so many amazing places we thought it would be neat to tie that into our theme. We also wanted to create a very homey and comfortable atmosphere, but at the same time have it feel elegant and special.
What was your favorite part of the day? Our favorite part of the day was the ceremony. It was, naturally, the most meaningful part of the day and even though there are 100 people in the room, it felt really intimate, romantic and truly a moment neither of us will ever forget. But quite honestly, beginning to end, it was the best day and night of our lives.
What advice do you have for other brides? The best advice I got was to try to live in the moment the entire day and to seal all those moments into memory. The wedding day goes so fast and its important to just be a bride and groom and have the time of your life!
