Allison and Mark were wed at the Atwood Ranch in Glen Ellen, California, a private estate with a little bit of everything: vineyards, mountains, a pond, a barn, a beautiful house and grassy fields…
An acoustic guitarist played songs with the word sun in them during the ceremony; Allison walked down the aisle to “Here Comes the Sun.”
Allison and Mark are graphic designers in New York, so of course they designed and wrote all of the stationery and accessories for the wedding. They wanted everything to reflect the sunny, rustic venue, and to feel joyful, happy, and personal. Each piece was uniquely hand-lettered or stamped.
Guests could take home bundles of pencils printed with “allison loves mark loves allison…” The guest book was a scrapbook that Mark found at a thrift store. Allison pasted envelopes into it for individual notes.
Buttons with different messages – things about Ohio (where Allison and Mark are both from), the flavor of the cake (chocolate and banana), the title of their first song, etc. – served as conversation pieces.
