Welcome Address

Want guests to know why we have invited them and asked them to spend this special day with us. // Thank everyone for coming to share this day with us. // Thank our parents. // Call everyone’s attention to the flowers placed in empty chairs in the front rows (we have flowers placed on empty chairs for Matt’s Papaw and Grandma and Grandpa Lowe and Katie’s Nanna and Grandpa Bob, and Grandpa Charles) – although our grandparents can’t be with us physically, we know they are looking own on us on this special day celebrating our love.

Opening Blessing

Declaration of Intent
Do you Matt promise to love Katie and respect her, to share your life and your dreams, to build with her a home that is a place of love, happiness, commitment and growth? To always seek out the best in her; Always loving her with all your heart, until the end of your forever?

“I do”

Do choose Katie as your one true love? Do you promise to be a companion to her in all of her successes and failures, her happiness and sadness, to always give to her your unwavering support and above all else, the freedom to be Katie?

Charge to Couple

Romance is fun, but true love is something far more and it is their desire to love each other for life and that is what we are celebrating here today.
A good marriage must be created.
In marriage the “little” things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say, ”I love you” at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is standing together and facing the world.
It is speaking words of appreciation, and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is not only marrying the right person — it is being the right partner.

Exchange of Vows

Kathryn, I choose you
To be no other than yourself,
Loving what I know of you,
And trusting who you will become.
I will respect and adore you
Always and in all ways.
I take you to be my wife,
To have and to hold,
In tears and in laughter,
In sickness and in health,
To love and to cherish,
From this day forward,
In this world and the next.

Matthew, I choose you
To be no other than yourself,
Loving what I know of you,
And trusting who you will become.
I will respect and adore you
Always and in all ways.
I take you to be my husband,
To have and to hold,
In tears and in laughter,
In sickness and in health,
To love and to cherish,
From this day forward,
In this world and the next.

Exchange of Rings (Bride & Groom repeat when asked)
These rings mark a new beginning in your journey together, filled with wonder, surprise, laughter, tears, celebration, grief and joy. As you wear them, may they be a constant reminder to you of one another, and of the deep bond of faith, trust and love which they represent.

Matt, as you place the ring on Katie’s finger, please repeat after me:
With this ring, I give you my promise
From this day forward you shall not walk alone.
May my heart be your shelter and my arms be your home.
(place ring on Katie’s hand)
Katie, as you place the ring on Matt’s finger, please repeat after me:
With this ring, I give you my promise
From this day forward you shall not walk alone.
May my heart be your shelter and my arms be your home.
(place ring on Matt’s hand)

Pronouncement and Kiss

You have chosen each other, declared your love and purpose before family and friends, and have made your pledge of love to each other, symbolized by the giving and receiving of rings. By virtue of the authority vested in me by the State of Colorado, I pronounce you “Husband and Wife”

Now you may kiss your bride!

Ladies and gentleman, it is my honor and privilege to present to you – Mr. and Mrs. Matt and Katie Gordon!
