And pink! This board is for Erin, who wanted some ideas for how to soften her red and ivory palette, and to give her wedding a romantic feeling. The addition of pink does both of those things, toning down the red, and making for a more romantic feel overall.

Mood: soft, romantic
Palette: red, pink, ivory

You have such a gift for this! I visit your blog every day (often multiple times) and I’m never disappointed!I’d love some help with my upcoming wedding. I’m getting married next September at a beautiful little farm in Skagit Valley (Washington). Very rustic, elegant, and full of natural beauty.Instead of floral centerpieces, we want to have bowls or vases full of seasonal fruit (plums, pears, apples, etc). Our colors are cranberry and tangerine.I’ve seen lots of boards that use reds and lots of boards that use oranges, but never red and orange together. Can you help me?

I’ve been so impressed by your boards that I *tried* to make my own last week and I just isn’t coming together. My issue is that my ceremony is outdoors in a beautiful arboretum, but my reception is in a funky old armory building (Portland Center Stage.) I just can’t figure out how to tie the two together. I love red and the Armory has a great red glass installation, which has been one color inspiration. My fiance and I also lived in India together and we love the fabrics and designs from there. As you can see I am all over the place. Any help for me?? Thanks for sharing your fabulous eye for design!

Love it! Red is such a powerful color this time of year. It warms up Fall arrangements and carries us into Christmas! Love your collection of red inspiration. I will be back.

i love your idea of an inspiration board a day – it’s fantastic and so helpful for brides-to-be like myself!i know you must get many requests or colour/theme ideas to try out, but here’s another one, from me:my wedding is this next june in a kind of funky building with bricks and exposed beams right on the beach in seattle. my inspiration is bright red italian poppies, orange poppies, and bright mediterranean blue. to combat too stark and modern a feel, i was thinking of using lace or a swiss dot kind of lace/mesh that i saw on a romona keveza dress to kind of soften things out.if you can think of any ideas you may have, and if you feel so inclined, i would love a little help! thanks a lot, and don’t stop with the daily inspiration!
