It wouldn’t be fall without a Snippet & Ink wedding board inspired by this gorgeous barn with the cream curtains… this time, though, I wanted to challenge myself to create a unique palette, incorporating some shade of blue. Of all the colors, blue is one of the toughest to make work for autumn, but if you choose the right hue (I’ve chosen a de-saturated navy), and the right materials (wool, linen, thick paper), I think it works beautifully. Unexpected and quirky, and totally rustic.

Mood: quirky rustic
Palette: subdued navy blue, rich burgundy brown, warm cream

I think you did a fabulous job of incorporating blue into a Fall palette. My daughter got married exactly one year ago. She used blue, gold and the flowers were autumn shades. It looked a lot like your inspiration board today. Here's a little peek at it.http://elderberrystreet.blogspot.com/2008/11/wedding-details.htmlI LOVE the envelopes and the barn of course. I think this is just lovely. I love the thought of a lovely orange and fig broken up with a weathered navy… sigh… October.

This palette is really beautiful…it would be lovely for a home as well! That blue is rare: not quite navy, definitely not royal…and I love it paired with the autumn tones.

I LOVE THIS!! I'm planning for a winter wedding, but I really like these colors and the "rustic" feel! Is there any way to incorporate these into wedding for early-mid December?

Hi Callie,I think this could certainly be used for a winter wedding, especially in a rustic setting. Especially if you incorporate lots and lots of candles. :)xoxoKathryn
