You all know how I feel about perfectly simple weddings, which is exactly what I have for you today. Elizabeth and Danny are celebrating their second wedding anniversary this month, so it’s a treat for me to share their wedding with you. Vineyard setting, simply lovely details, and beautiful photos from the very sweet Kristen Loken

Four layer cakes were displayed like in a bakery window, and were decorated with hand-made white sugar flowers, inspired by images of couture paper hats from Chanel’s Spring 2009 collection, that Elizabeth sent to the baker.

Elizabeth kindly shared some of the details about the day:

Why did you choose this for your wedding? We loved the modern architecture, concrete floors, and surrounding vineyards at Stryker and they inspired the look and feel of the wedding.

Do you have any budget tips for other brides? Save a little by sending save-the-date and rehearsal dinner invitations via email. Also, have guests email their RSVPs rather than sending back reply cards. This way guests can send their congratulations and ask any questions directly to you and your fiancé.

What was your favorite part of the day? Besides actually getting married, Danny and I looked down the rows of seats at the two large communal tables where guests were seated for dinner and realized that this was the best party list we could have possibly put together for any occasion and we were so happy to have everyone there to hang out with us.

What advice do you have for other brides? Make the wedding what you and your significant other want it to be – there’s no need to follow a prescribed list of things you have to do or feel obligated to do. Respect everyone’s wishes, but figure out how you both would do it on your own – you’re going to be making it up as you go along for the rest of your relationship so you may as well start now.

Stryker Sonoma is in Geyserville, CA, not Sonoma. (I’m a local.)
