I can’t figure out the best way to describe this Stephanie’s romantic Marchesa dress, except to say that I love how unusual and beautiful it is! It’s always so fun to see a bride showing her personal style in her wedding day attire. And the rest of the wedding is just classic wine country elegance at its best, from Meg Smith and Laurie Arons.
A little something blue in the vintage handkerchief tied around Stephanie’s bouquet.
Bridesmaids complemented the bride’s romantic look in blush pink chiffon.
Lavender lemonade… yum!
Dinner started with a salad of Fresh Peaches with Shaved Parmesan, Basil Purée and Wild Arugula, followed up by Smoked Filet Mignon with Tarragon Butter, Mascarpone Whipped Potatoes, and Local Baby Vegetables. For dessert, Perfect Endings created a lemon-accented cake with ombre sugar petals.
Stephanie’s advice for other brides? “Take a moment with your husband to step away from the party and savor the beautiful energy of the night. You’ll remember that talk forever.”
Why did you choose this location for your wedding? The property took our breath away the moment we saw the beautiful lake surrounded by willow trees and vineyards. We had always wanted an outdoor wedding in a stunning natural setting that could stand on its own, requiring little decoration. We really loved how we could use different areas of the property for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We had fun leading the guests from the lake up to the terrace where we dined and danced under the stars.
What inspired you when you were planning your wedding? The wispy willow trees that surrounded the lake. We incorporated willow tree artwork in the wedding invitations and wedding programs.
What was your favorite moment or part of the day? During our sendoff at the end of the night, our family and friends gathered around our white Packard convertible with sparklers that lit up the dark night sky. Suddenly, our friends broke out in song to “Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye” as we were getting into the car. The singing was such an unexpected bonus and made the sendoff all the more special. As we drove off, I cuddled up to my new husband with blankets and champagne as we drove along the dark streets of St. Helena toasting to our magical day.
Did you include any traditions in your wedding? During the ceremony, we surprised our parents by having them bless our rings before we said our vows. It was a fun way to incorporate our families (and sneak a hug) during that special moment.
