If you follow anyone in the wedding industry on twitter, then you’ve probably heard all about BHLDN, Urban Outfitter’s new wedding line that’s launching on Valentine’s Day (it’s pronounced like beholden). There have been some sneak peeks around the web, and this one with the peach and gray was so lovely I just had to make an inspiration board with it. Did you check out some of the pieces from BHLDN? Do you have a favorite?

Mood: romantic, whimsical
Palette: orange, peach, cream, butterscotch

Top row from left: dress from BHLDN, orange pinwheel by Rebecca Thuss, cake with paper decorations from Martha Stewart Weddings

I was actually pretty disappointed. The Anthropologie aesthetic has been present in the indie bridal world for a year or two already. They seem behind the times and didn’t really bring anything new. I love the piece in your board and these few, but the rest was kind of ordinary, I thought:

I totally get your point, Hillary. That’s what I was expecting from the entire collection, so I was pleasantly surprised to find some pieces that I liked a lot. Plus, the colors in this peach and gray one were too lovely to ignore.

Hands down: the pleated grey dress. I want it yesterday. The coverage of the wedding line is pretty big in the Anthropologie blogging community. I didn’t think I would like the line but, boy, I was so wrong.

my fave is that bridesmaid dress at the top left! the dress that emily of cupcakes and cashmere tried on is super cute too…not to mention the little headband she wore as well!

I’m with Hillary. As a long time Anthropologie fan, I’ve recently been finding myself really let down by their offerings.

In particular, I’ve been looking forward to BHLDN for over a year (since it was in the news), and only one of the dresses even remotely appealed to me. The sneak peak that bloggers have been sharing seems a bit forced and like a swap party for weddings past. A bit behind trend, sadly.

I was also struck by the price. Seems a bit steep for their audience.

All this being said, you never know until you see it in person. And perhaps the line will improve with age!
