This is quite possibly my favorite faux wedding we’ve had on Snippet & Ink to date! McKenzie Powell and Belathée created a gorgeous shoot that is both modern and classic, romantic and fresh…
McKenzie shared some details about the design with us: My goal for this shoot was to create something clean, fresh, and polished. An event that felt glamorous and welcoming. Traditional yet modern. White cattleya orchids plus air plants… why not?! And citrus doesn’t exactly fill our Pacific Northwest backyards, but it’s the ultimate pop of freshness and color, especially in winter months, and thankfully grows beautifully just two states away in California.
Although I wanting to err on the side of a more modern design, I couldn’t resist using an amazing antique sideboard for our dessert display. And in fact, the rich cocoa and ganache cake sitting atop the vintage table made for just the type of unexpected juxtaposition I love.
Touches of metallic in the linens, flatware, and votives added warmth and a modern vibe. Sticking with clear glass for much of our centerpiece décor allowed me to mix a variety of styles, from sleek candelabras to heavyweight cut crystal. With an incredible light-filled space as our backdrop, all that glass did not disappoint.

Love the neutral table linens with a hint of metallic. The citrus really pops off this backdrop. Our Serefina Scroll would help achieve this look perfectly.
Pam and Grace, we’d love to know what you think.
Love the decor! What kind of linen is this?
Cute use of kumquats!
I love the modern take on gold flatware. This is exactly how I want my flatware and dinnerware to look at my wedding. It’s fresh! And that cake is to die for!
