This beautiful Wyoming wedding from Carrie Patterson is equally elegant and laid back, exactly what the bride was going for: “I wanted a classic wedding with a laid back vibe, so I tried to balance the fancy with the relaxed.”
Before the ceremony, guests enjoyed mason jars of pre-wedding punch.
The groom’s smile makes me smile! The bride’s favorite part of the day? “Having Trey’s 92 year old grandfather, marry us.”
What better way to celebrate being just married than with a fist pump?!
Flip flops and pashminas were available to keep guests comfortable.
Why did you choose this location for your wedding? We knew we wanted to get married in the mountains and it was always my dream to get married in Jackson Hole since first visiting when I was 14. I spent the summers there in college and it is one of my favorite places on earth. When Trey and I first met, he had rented a house in Jackson for a month (which made me think we had something in common) and I was able to go out to visit him and show him around. Now we have a family home there, so it’s not just my place, but our place.
What inspired you when you were planning your wedding? Having been in over 15 weddings, I knew what I didn’t want. When Elizabeth (our coordinator) showed me the Aspen Grove, I cried. I didn’t even know it existed and knew it was the place.
Did you include any traditions in your wedding? On the back of our program we listed all our closest relatives who were unable to be with us because they were watching from heaven. For my mom’s aunt, we had a nosegay on a chair with her name on it.
What was the best advice you received as a bride? HAVE FUN!
What advice do you have for other brides? Your attitude and vibe will dictate the tone of the day. If you’re relaxed, your guests will feel that. Things are going to go wrong and sideways. Just go with it and enjoy the moment, your guests will too!
