Board #308 | Tiffany Blue and Tangerine

Beau-Coup invited me to take part in their inspiration challenge – create a wedding look based around one of their (many) favors. I chose the mini teapot as my inspiration for this sweetly sophisticate orange and blue tea party. Though it could easily work as a bridal shower, I do love the idea of an intimate tea party wedding reception. Centerpieces and bouquets that incorporate both flowers and citrus fruits (all of the flowers here were done by Ariella Chezar), charming blue and cream details, and of course a darling little teapot for a favor.

Mood: sweet afternoon tea
Palette: tangerine, Tiffany blue, cream

Row 2: cake and bouquet both from Martha Stewart Weddings
Row 3: wish box from Martha Stewart Weddings, teapot favor from Beau-Coup, child’s dress
Row 4: bouquet by Ariella Chezar, ring pillow from Martha Stewart Weddings, card by Carrot & Stick Press, teacups

The fun thing is that in this inspiration challenge for me, there’s an opportunity for you to win a $75 gift card to Beau-Coup! All you have to do is hop over to Beau-Coup and browse around for your favorite favor. Then come back here and leave a comment not only mentioning which favor you chose, but what type of wedding it would inspire (venue, colors, mood, etc). You have until midnight on Monday, November 17 to enter, and I will announce the winner on Friday, November 21. I can’t wait to hear your ideas!

  • The Mini-Monogrammed Brownie Pops! Brownies are my favorite sweet and I think these pops inspire a playful yet classy affair. One that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Kind of like…MY wedding!

  • I LOVE the personalized Satin Dot ribbon. You can do soooo many things with that! The opportunities are endless! I would use the ribbon for a “wish wand”. I would have the instructions on the ribbon on what to do with wand!

  • spdwysuprstar says:

The mini metal sailboats are SO CUTE! My fiance is an officer in the Navy and will be wearing his whites to our wedding, so we’re considering a blue “naval” theme. The favor holder would be so cute with that!

  • I really like the Asain Sandalwood fans. It brings to mind a wedding in August with a vintage feel. Gusts could keep comfortable, and are then fitting in with the theme. I can even imagine a great photograph of gloved women’s hands holding the fans. Plus, it would match nicely with my ideal lace dress. I love favors that are functional both during and after the wedding!

  • Zeddy says:

I love the colourful round paper lanterns! They are so colourful and vibrant. I am picturing an outdoor wedding in the early evening/night with bright lanterns in the trees in sunshine, light green and purple colours (maybe even turquoise). A simple backyard wedding and these lanterns would make a beautiful setting.

  • kristin says:

I love the Plantable Seed Wedding Favors! We are trying to incorporate as many eco-friendly ideas into our wedding as possible. Plantable favors that grew into wildflowers would definitely give off an eco-friendly mood. I also love the “Love Grows” saying on them! I would probably pick ivory, which would match a variety of organic-like color schemes. These would be great for an outdoor venue surrounded by nature.

I love the wine cork placecard holders. I imagine an evening affair in the city with a merlot and champagne color scheme. The setting would be intimate, such as a candle lit back room at a cozy Italian eatery. The linens would all be merlot with champagne and white flowers and gold tableware with gold rimmed china. All the food would be served family style in large platters in the middle of long plank tables, and of course the wine would be flowing. At the end of the night, all of the full happy guests would leave with a custom-labeled bottle of vino.

  • Annie says:

I would buy the bamboo placecard holders:

My wedding would not be Asian themed however. It would be an outdoor backyard wedding with dark brown and light, light blue as the colors. Because it would be fairly casual, my dress would be slightly above knee length and my groom would wear a brown suit. And since the bamboo is eco friendly, that theme would continue into the rest of the wedding with reuseable dishes (white dishes purchased at various thrift and dollar stores)and vintage or rented white table cloths. Guests would be told to take their bamboo home to hold photos.

  • Valerie says:

I LOVE the fall leaf wine bottle stoppers. My fiance and I are having an autumn New England wedding where the reception is in a barn built in the 1800’s. Also, we are incorporating Tuscany in our wedding theme since we got engaged in Italy. The wine stopper is perfect since Tuscany is known for their wine AND it has a fall leaf. It’s perfect!!!

  • i love the whole leaf tea sachet favors. they are in such elegant pyramid shaped boxes with a leaf sticking out on top. i picture them being used as favors in a winter wedding with a lunch reception, along with vintage teacups.

  • Sarah says:

I pick the snowflake wine stoppers. I think they would be perfect for a winter wonderland affair. Lots of blues and whites. It would take place at a lodge in Vail with tons of candlelight.

  • Jena says:

I would purchase the designer pewter leaf ornaments:

My wedding would take place in the fall. My colour palette would be the mix of browns, orange and a deep yellow. The lights would be dim with candles blanketing the venue. It would be romantic and rustic.
The guests would have small wooden boxes with our monogram carved on the top at their place setting.
A vase filled with a branch arrangement would be located at the exit of the venue with the leaf ornaments hanging from the branches tied with deep orange ribbon. At the end of the night the guests would take their engraved wooden boxes and choose a leaf ornament to take home as their wedding favor.

I love the pastel favor vases. I’m doing something similar for the centerpieces, and I think these tiny vases would look so nice. My wedding is very simple and clean, so these would work really well!

  • Megan says:

I love the mini gumball machines! I could just see a totally retro, playful wedding with an old school photobooth or arcade games. bright bold colors like aqua, orange, and red come to mind.

  • zoliepup says:

It’s all about the cocktail jellybeans! We’ve got an old-time feel going on, and the colors of the beans paired with our signature drinks will be perfect. Jellybeans remind me of my grandfather, who won’t be with us for our wedding.

  • kaitlin says:

spdwysuprstar, did you see the wooden sailboats that they have? they’re really nice as well! they also have glass ones, and really cool namecard holders that would fit such a theme.

i like the idea of either personalized playing cards, or the wedding frisbees. the two characters on the frisbees look quite a bit like us, and we both play ultimate.

in terms of how that plays into our wedding, it’s going to be a comfortable, quirky, garden wedding, and there will be lots to do, such as playing horseshoes, and tree climbing for the kids, etc. so, this just plays off of it even more :)

  • bnini bride says:

I would love to get the tuquoise and red chinese lanterns for my outdoor wedding bash this August. The bold colors set a festive vibe for an oceanside wedding at dusk. Plus the round shape of the lanterns mimic the polka dots on my dress. I am so excited!

  • Darrah says:

I love the Couture Wedding Dress Cookies. I see them as the inpiration for a tea party shower decked out in pink, green and ivory. Everyone could wear hats and white gloves!

  • sea*bee says:

Mini Birds Nests filled with moss and marzipan mushrooms would make a fun project. I could see these as favors for an earthy brown and leaf green party set in a backyard or woodsy park. The moss could be replanted when the guests take it home!

i love the personalized leaf petals! It could make for SUCH a cute fall inspired wedding. Not only could the favors be sprinkled on the tables as decorations but they could also be hung at varying lengths on the wall. There could also be a paper tree on the wall where the gift table is and htey could make up the leaves of the tree and then fall onto the table as well. So so many uses to incorporate the beauty of a marriage and the beauty of fall!

  • DomestiGals says:

Ooh Kathryn these colors are gorgeous – I always love when you include a shade of orange, since it’s my favorite color! Still trying to figure out how to incorporate it into my own wedding! Cheers, Jen xx

  • Janice says:

The mini holiday brownie pops in snowflake! They would be the perfect favor for a winter wonderland wedding! Tiffany Blue and silver accents, everything frosted, coconut cake!

  • I choose the custom made cookies with the bees and flowers! I would pick up on the yellow and black theme for a modern styled wedding with accents of the aqua blue.

  • Laura says:

I want to host a tea party with this color scheme in April now. Thanks for the inspiration (and the incentive to go spend some loot)!

  • Anita says:

My fav are the personalized candy bars – edibles are always a hit with guests! I would put “How sweet it is to be loved by you” and placed on their plates to enjoy whenever they want…Would be fun to play the song “How sweet it is to be loved by you” at the cake cutting also to go along with theme.

  • mimi says:

i guess it’s not very modern of me but i think i want to do personalized matches for my supper club-y wedding.

  • Cobbalicious says:

I choose the Mini Buri Fans! I’m thinking… Southern garden-party wedding in the summer, with ivory linen and mint juleps. Definitely late afternoon, to enjoy the setting sun. A natural-to-green colorway would be beautiful.

  • The monogrammed petite fours! I LOVE chocolate….who doesn’t?! These favors could be incorporated into any theme/style of wedding.

  • Shana says:

Personalized plantable seed card favors! My wedding will be inspired by your Little Prince board! One of the main elements will be flowers and the great impact just one can have on one’s life. So, my fiance and I would encourage our guests to take the seeds given to them, plant them, and find joy watching them grow!

The adorable Miniature Metal Watering Cans are just what I have been looking for!
They would be the perfect addition to my garden wedding!!
I would add a personalized guest tag to each can and handle and have them serve as my escort cards!!!!!!!
To double use them for my exit, I have all of my guest’s bring them outside for my exit and lay them on the brick steps of my garden send-off, light a tea light inside of them, and have them depict as “luminaries” that would serve as our exit aisle!!!
Thanks for the tip to a GREAT wedding vendor!!

  • holly p says:

I love to cook, but I also love wine! So my favorites would have to be the mini oil and vinegar set and the personalized wine glasses. Either one would be the perfect addition to our wedding.

  • Courtney says:

    {I love this board!}

[One of my] favorite favors are the mini cocktail shakers.

How sweet would they be for an evening wedding with a cocktail and dessert reception? I’m picturing a unique venue like an art gallery and a colour palate of black and white, with a pop of colour [like red or teal] that can be emulated by a personalized or signature martini!

  • holstang says:

I absolutely LOVE the cruise ship luggage tags. I plan on mailing these out along with welcome aboard letters to everyone who will be cruising with us after our cruise ship wedding as a "Thank You". They really go with the whole nautical theme we are going for. For actual wedding day favors, we will be getting the personalized packs of gum. Perfect, because our wedding guests who will not be sailing with us cannot take anything that isn't prepackaged off the ship. (Customs Regulations.) I've also fallen in love with the mini boats. I'd like to fill these with mints & set them out by the bar. So cute! And they go with my colors- navy blue and green. Perfect!
