Board #314 | Not Black-Tie

There is no reason that a black and white palette has to mean black-tie. There is certainly something inherently chic about this palette of opposites, but not necessarily fussy or formal. In this inspiration board, I aimed for something playful with a modern edge. A black-and-white photobooth is a must, as are chalkboard elements and Oreo cookie favors. Any other ideas for playful black and white details?

Oh, be sure to stop by Kelly Oshiro’s blog today to check out my guest post!

checkerboard centerpieces that guests can actually play with might be fun! I love your idea of Oreos – maybe tier them around the cake. Didn’t you have a playful black and white board before in which you had black All Star shoes for the groom? Very cool!

I love the blackboard pots with the irises, that is going in my pile of seating card ideas :)

I love the B&W theme! I would have to say the chalkboard pots from Pottery Barn are my favourite.

Have you seen the chalkboard candle holders from Martha Stewart?

Ooohhh! this might be a great wedding to have a silhouette artist come to draw your guests & give the artwork as a take-home.

Love the drama of the contrasting colors. It's easy to play up or down depending on your tastes!
