Board #372 | The Heartland
In this Midwestern wedding board, pale pastels work well with golden wheat. Cross-stitch invitations and quilts play up folk-art traditions. Overall, a charming and low-key wedding in the heartland…
Mood: feminine folk-art, rustic charm

This one is charming and so pretty in a very subtle way!
Just lovely…I just adore this!
I’m originally from Iowa… I say beautiful!
The rose wreaths look like Greek “stefana.”
I love the idea of cross-stitched invitations. I bet you could do a more quirky inspiration board on crafting and incorporate something along the lines of these more ironic cross-stitch projects:

Oh, what a sweet vintage postcard! Love this subtle palette–being from the Midwest (well chicago) I think it is perfect for the setting!
so lovely!
OH I love this one! Warm and charming. Good work!
thanks for featuring my Custom Heart Samplers! I made one as a “ring pillow” for a wedding and the girl let me know she saw this…thanks!
aww that’s sweet! i love it.
i’m loving these regional inspiration boards.
in keeping with this midwestern one, i’d love to see mackinac island.
Love this board…so peaceful…opposite of my wedding colors!!!
I love the subtle colors- they make a big impact when used together.
Lovely! I swear, since I made my bridal bouquet out of dried wheat 3 days ago, I keep seeing wheat in weddings everywhere across the web!
I love working with dried wheat for decorations. It just is so beautiful by itself. It is hard to mess up with it and easy to get online. I get all my wheat at http://www.CuriousCountryCreations.com if you are looking for variety.
I live in Indiana, but I’m still one of those people who want to run as far away from the midwest as possible. lol But, still, great board nonetheless! As always. I agree – a Mackinac Island board would be awesome.
Who would have thought that wheat could look so chic. Great ideas.
yay Midwest!
Hello there, You have done an excellent job. I’ll certainly digg it and personally recommend to my friends. I’m confident they’ll be benefited from this web site.
Cross stitch invitations?!? Why did I not think of that? Terrific idea! Love the subtle details of this board. I can imagine these being incorporated in barnyard weddings.
