I’m so happy to be popping in on Snippet & Ink while Kathryn is easing into first-time motherhood. She and Ryan are going to make such amazing parents, I just know it.
We’re getting into that good time of year. You know what I’m talking about – cookouts, pool parties, and enjoying warmer weather with friends and family. I always like to take along a little something for the host or hostess as a thank you for creating such a fantastic gathering (because they almost always are). Here are a few of my favorites.
These fabric napkins with hand-painted nautical knots are a perfect fit for summer! I like to give hostess gifts that are necessities, but that you might not buy for yourself. (These napkins would also look lovely framed.)
Something like these sweet-smelling pastille soaps can be used immediately or tucked away for later. They’re the perfect size to put out in a guest bathroom when you have overnight visitors, too.
You don’t need to have a collection to appreciate the gift of a few vintage teacups. You don’t even have to like tea, they can just as easily be used for small succulents, a candle, or holding small pieces of jewelry.
There’s nothing like receiving an ordinary everyday object that’s been made in an extraordinary way, like these handmade wood measuring spoons. I don’t think I’d even have the heart to put them in a drawer between uses!
Household chores need done whether we want to do them or not. The least we can do is make them a bit more fun, like with these fun dish towels.
Do you have any go-to hostess gifts that people love receiving? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!

Those soaps look edible.
I really like the fabric napkins with hand-painted nautical knots. Great gifting ideas. Thanks for the post.
