Jen & Malcolm | Romantic Wedding in Scotland

How about a little trip to Scotland for this beautiful wedding from Ed Peers? And not to give anything away, but wait until you see the bride’s shoes…

Not every bride could pull off these incredible feathered shoes, but Jen sure does!

The groom and his attendants wore traditional kilts.

Before moving to a tent for dinner, guests mingled in the garden for cocktail hour.

There’s something so wonderful about the juxtaposition of these romantic blush dresses and the red hens!

Why did you choose this location for your wedding?  I’d always dreamed of marrying at my parents backyard, but given they live in a condo in Miami, that wasn’t going to happen. My husband is Scottish so once we landed on a wedding in Scotland, Greywalls stood out to us, because we could rent out the entire place for exclusive use and treat it as our home for the weekend, it also had a beautiful garden, spectacular food, outstanding service and was relatively close to an international airport, which meant all our friends from the States could get there easily.

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding?  The movie Father of the Bride, and garden and country weddings.

What was your favorite moment or part of the day?  The ceilidh and seeing all of our friends and family join together on the dance floor

What was the best advice you received as a bride?  Don’t try to please everyone. And take a moment during the day to really appreciate it all.

What advice do you have for other brides?  The best decision we made was to hire a wedding coordinator. They were amazing during and eliminated any decision making on the day-of as everything was planned to a T before the wedding. Also know that planning can get stressful but it is all worth it to see your family and friends gather for one day in your honor.

Is there anything else that helps tell the story of the day?  We carried 150 Momofuku blueberry and cornflake cookies to Scotland as a wedding favor to all our guests. This made the whole day feel more personal and we were able to share our favorite New York treats with all our friends and family in Scotland.
