How To Perform A Handfasting Ceremony With Full Script
Knot Tying
The couple has chosen to honor their Irish heritage with a handfasting ceremony. Handfasting is an ancient Irish wedding tradition that has come to be interpreted literally, as the symbolic act of “tying the knot.”
“Blessing of the Hands”
These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow and tears of joy. These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it. And lastly, these are the hands that, even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving the you same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.
I came to the post hoping to find the whole script for a handfasting ceremony. Unfortunately, I can only see the blessing of the hands. Is there something glitching on the page that is not allowing the rest to be seen, or am I missing something? The blessing is beautiful and I’d love to see the rest of it!
It seems you have to click on each script title you want to see
I’m having the same issue.
I would also love to see the rest of the script!
See http://www.asimpleceremony.org/optional-elements/hand-fasting/
As with everyone else…..NOT ABLE TO SEE ENTIRE SCRIPT.
Bride responds. If the couple has written vows they wish to speak to one another, now is the time to do this.
The best moment of life is yet to come for me in a month or so. I am desperately waiting for a day when I will perform my handfasting ceremony with the only man of my life. Oh! I love him so much. I need a suggestion, what should I gift my hubby-to-be on our big day because I want to do something different?
yes me too. can only see the hand blessing part of the script. Clicking on the title only brings me back to the blessing of the hands part. Thanks anyway…
