Christina & Ben | Purple Vineyard Wedding at B.R. Cohn Winery

Let’s head to the wine country for Christina and Ben’s wedding!

A custom chalkboard program took the place of printed programs at the ceremony.

The seating chart was written on the panes of a window – I love this detail! For the floral decor, Nancy Liu Chin used lilac, lavender, delphinium, hydrangea and sweet pea in various shades of purple.

Why did you choose this location for your wedding?  Ben and I wanted a small intimate wedding with just our family and closest friends, and after taking a trip to Sonoma to celebrate Ben’s graduation from graduate school, we knew it was the perfect place to have our wedding. Sonoma was so beautiful but still has that small town feel we were looking for. B.R. Cohn is family owned and felt so comfortable. It has the best spot for a ceremony, right in the middle of their cabernet vineyard with a 360-degree view of the vines, and then to top it off, our reception was in their olive grove with 150 year old trees. I loved it so much I didn’t even worry about the fact that they really don’t have a weather back up plan; turns out our weather couldn’t have been more perfect.

What was your favorite moment or part of the day?  Our favorite part of the day was right after the ceremony: we had a a little bit of time to take a moment and sit in the front row of our ceremony seating and look out into the vineyard. It was nice to have that time just the two of us and take it all in! We followed it up with pictures in the vineyard, so beautiful and most definitely my most favorite time.

What was the best advice you received as a bride?  The best advice I received as a bride was to not stress over the small details – you spend so much time and money planning, on the big day it is so important to just enjoy your family, friends and new husband!

What advice do you have for other brides?  My advice would be to take a moment during the reception to step back and watch all of our guests, I did and it was nice to see everyone having so much fun, especially since you will be so busy and the day really does fly by!

  • Kathryn —- thank you for featuring our lovely couple C+B. Christina was an inspiring bride and when she said all shades of violet, purple, lavender, I was thrilled to do it. The accent of the chalkboard, black lanterns, black bridesmaid dresses made these winery wedding so lovely in contrast to the vineyard background. Courtney, who is Kelly’s assistant is so talented and she really did a great job with all the custom boards. And our bride, Christina was so pretty. Ben and all the groomsmen were so chill — and positive. Love this couple.
