Mojitos are one of those special drinks that will always taste like a summer celebration to me. And this one’s served with a twist, thanks to some rose hip-infused simple syrup! Isn’t that color beautiful? This is a signature cocktail your guests will be talking about for weeks!
Rose Hip Mojito Ingredients
3 oz Oysterville Vodka (or any Vodka you like!)
2 tbsp Rose hip infused simple syrup
Abundant Fresh Mint
1-2oz Soda water
Rose Hip Infused Simple Syrup
To make the rose hip syrup, collect rose hips in the wild or purchase at farmers market. Remove stems and flower remnants before boiling rose hips and water for 20 minutes in a covered saucepan. Add sugar to strained water, stir well, and boil five minutes until sugar has dissolved and sauce has thickened. Refrigerate syrup in an airtight container until ready for use. Lasts up to 10 days. (You may also use rose hip tea leaves if you can not procure the rose hips)
Combine fresh mint, fresh lime juice & 1 tbsp rose hip simple syrup to pint glass with 3-4 ice cubes; muddle. Fill pint glass 3/4 full with crushed ice, add vodka. Shake vigorously until shaker has frost on the outside. Pour into preferred glassware, top with soda water, a squeeze more of simple syrup for sweetness + more crushed ice; mound for effect. Garnish with lime wheel and more fresh mint. ENJOY.
