Texas Golden Honey :: Signature Cocktail
Photography by Shelby Tsika
This week’s signature cocktail is Southern summertime in a drink! It combines bourbon, honey, figs (and just a little bit of fizz!) to create a cocktail that’s the perfect refresher in the heat of summer. Let’s just say I’ll definitely be serving this at my next happy hour!
Texas Golden Honey
Recipe:
1 heaping spoonful of fig preserves
2 oz of bourbon
2 mint leaves
1 fresh lime, juiced
2 oz local honey
12 oz sparkling water (we Texans choose Topo Chico)
1 springs of mint (garnish)
Directions:
Muddle the fig preserves with the mint leaves inside a mixing tin.
Let sit for at least 10 minutes.
Add fresh lime juice, honey, and mint.
Add ice so that the tin is 3/4 full.
Top the tin and shake.
Double strain into a coupe glass filled with ice.
Top with sparking water.
Garnish with mint sprig if desired.
Love this fizzy cocktail – and it’s just so darn pretty! It was fun to learn a little about food styling from Shelby. Her talent is incredible! Thanks for the feature <3
Shelby, being a Kentucky girl, loving my bourbon and whiskey, this appeals to my taste buds! Can’t wait to try
