Alexis & Erick | Garden Wedding in Marin County

Today’s beautiful Bay Area wedding comes to us from a devoted Snippet & Ink reader, which (as you know) totally makes my day.

Does it get any sweeter than an adorable ring bearer in a seersucker suit?

Says Alexis, “One of the most special things about our wedding was that my brother officiated it. He did such a great job and made the ceremony so personal and special.”

Says the bride, “My Basset Hound, Gretel, is such an enormous part of my life. She goes with me practically everywhere, and I felt strongly that she had to be a part of the wedding, so we only considered venues that allow dogs.”

Bar Agricole is known for it’s locally sourced ingredients, and the menu reflected what was in season: heirloom tomatoes with basil and burrata; belgian endive with goat cheese and asian apple pears; roast chicken with gypsy peppers and sweet corn polenta; brisket with horseradish, romano beans and whipped potatoes; and sheep’s milk ricotta gnudi with basil pesto and ratatouille.

Some details from Alexis:

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding?  We love our city and we thought there was no place more appropriate to have our wedding than in the place where we met and make our home together.

What was your favorite moment or part of the day?  Seeing Erick’s face when he saw me walk down the aisle. And dancing to Tina’s Turner’s “Proud Mary” in my wedding dress at the reception!

What was the best advice you received as a bride? What advice to you have for other brides?  ENJOY your wedding. And eat. I had my stressful moments but I was calm as could be the day of the wedding. I had the best bridesmaids and maid of honor who took incredible care of me. It’s not worth any of it if you don’t savor every moment. Erick and I had an incredible time and we ate like pigs – we spent a lot of time on that incredible menu!

Is there anything else that helps tell the story of the day?  We stayed true to who are as a couple and what we love and share. The wedding was a perfect reflection of how much we both love the outdoors/ beautiful scenery and also the city. We adore excellent food and wine and could not have been happier with Bar Agricole as a venue. They never held a sit down 115 person wedding reception and did a phenomenal job. The best is hearing our friends and family still tell us it was the most fun wedding they had ever attended. That could not make us happier!
